UP FOR AUCTION IS A TRUE PIECE OF HOT ROD HISTORY!
This is a 1932 Ford Roadster, built back in 1947, by James Smith from Birdsboro, PA. Mr. Smith recently passed away in his nineties, and his car is the one everyone wants to duplicate today. However, this is the real deal!
The car has been hidden away in a garage for over fifty years and is a very cool example of what "hot-rodding" started out as in the forties.
A photo of the car was featured in Rodding and Re-styling Magazine's feature on the ECCA's third annual Motorama. The original issue of this magazine will be included.
The car has a totally rebuilt late model Flathead V8, 1947 Ford Engine. Two rebuilt Carburetors . The car is built on a 1932 modified Ford chassis. The body has been narrowed down the center by four inches. Has a model T cowl and Chevy steering.
It has a boat style windshield. Also features a hand-built louvered aluminum hood and a Scoops custom made 32 grill shell. It has an original type banjo rear end 3 speed manual transmission (we think it's Packard but not positive). 1944 hydraulic brakes. The car runs great !!
Also featured is a very expensive set of vintage Stewart Warner Gauges, original from the time.
Included as well are four fenders and a handful of other parts original to the car.
The only thing changed on this car is that the seat has been re-upholstered.
Original paint and primer, no rust. Waiting for your custom paint job!
The car has a special PA 1932 Constructed Title.
Don't miss your opportunity to own a true piece of Hot Rod history!
I hold the right to sell offline, as this is a local car.
