For Sale: 1972 Ford Mustang Fastback Q-code Cobra Jet This is a resto-mod/custom car I started to build quite a few years ago. I need to part with it now to gain space in my garage for other things. I've owned this car since June 1999. It's been very well taken care of and always stored inside. I'll attempt to list everything. but for the sake of space and text I'll try to be to the point. The bodywork consists of: -All 4 new front aprons and core support. All of which was put back together to the factory dimensions. The shock towers were in great shape with only media blasting needed. Everything was seam sealed and painted with self-etching primer first before being top coated. -New drivers side outer wheel house as the rest was in great shape -Passenger side outer wheelhouse repair and some lower quarter panel repair -New trunk drop-offs installed on both sides with minor trunk floor repair -New bumper mount gussets -The taillight panel is a custom piece I built to house 2005 Mustang taillights. It needs minor finishing. I started the inner panels to mount the lights and have the drivers side complete. I'm an old school steel worker and prefer leadwork . No bondo in anything I've built for this car. -New chrome rear bumper with new bumper mounts included -The frontend has a custom tube steel framework that mounts the 2005 Mustang grill and headlights. It's fully adjustable and is bolted to the core support. so if you wanted to return the car to a stock grill and lights you could. I have all the stock headlight mounts and fender brackets also. -Custom front valance with a bolt on custom front belly pan that bolts the valance to the core support -Custom sectioned 1969 Mustang front bumper with custom bumper brackets -New battery tray and NOS hold down -New hood -New door hinges and latches installed. plus I have NOS and reproduction pieces to rebuild the rollers and guides inside the doors. An extra set of factory door glass is included. -New Ford licensed reproduction parking and side lamps with all the gaskets and trim pieces. Drivetrain and suspension: -Factory correct 351CJ 4V engine with close ratio Top Loader 4 speed. The engine has a mild build with a cam and ported heads and is good for 375hp. The engine ran strong when I parked it and it's been inside ever since. For the sake of time. I'm not going to put everything back together to let people listen to it run. If by the end of this you would think I would sell something less than exceptional. this probably isn't for you. -Big Super Comp headers with new 3 inch exhaust. Done right with mandrel bent tubing. X pipe and Flow Master mufflers. Includes all new factory exhaust hangers incorporated into the design. Exhaust bolts together via flanges at the mufflers. Very little left to finish it. -The only two pieces of the front suspension that are not brand new are the strut rods. which are stock. Done right with new springs. bushings. control arms. ball joints. etc. -4 wheel disk brakes. Factory front set up with all new parts down to the spindles. The rear uses a Vintage Venom bracket kit and Mustang GT calipers and rotors. which are brand new also. -New factory spec HD springs and polyurethane bushing kit. -New front and rear sway bars with bushing kits. This a genuine factory staggered rear shock car. so the rear sway bar option is a tough one to find. -New KYB factory spec shocks in all 4 corners. -Ford 9 inch "N" case small bearing rearend. 3. 25 gearset. The center section has been completely gone through with new bearings. seals. etc. New Superior axles and seals. New wheel studs at all four corners. Included are a brand new set of parking brake cables which need to be installed. -I have a cabinet full of new Ford Licensed reproduction parts and NOS parts that are specific for this car. Starter solenoid. voltage regulator. decals. PCV valve. hoses and a lot more as seen in the pictures. -I have all stainless steel brake lines and new rubber lines. Included is a new Ford factory aluminum master cylinder (tough to find) and pre-plumbed SSBC proportioning valve. -Brand new gas tank. sending unit. gaskets. seals. rubber boots. Also have all new stainless steel gas line from the tank all the way to the carb. -New 15x9 and 15x7 17 inch American Racing wheels and lug nuts. These are licensed and made as a Mustang Cobra replica. On the rims are brand new Goodyear Eagle GT 255/60R17 rears and Goodyear Eagle GS-D 215/55R17 fronts. These gives it a great stance. The ginger interior is all there and intact. but needs some love. I have a box full of receipts to document everything listed. This car has a clean ND title with no BS. To sweeten the pot. I'm inluding a vintage Shelby intake for a 351C 4V. brand new 625cfm 4150 Holley carb. custom laser etched cast aluminum Shelby Cobra air cleaner. a vintage set of Cal Custom finned aluminum valve covers. 1970 factory Mustang Hurst shifter. and a Edelbrock Torker intake with mild port work. There is a reserve set on this auction. The car will have to be picked up at my location as I will not arrange or provide shipping. I'm also asking for a $500 deposit via PayPal due with 24 hours of the auctions end. The balance of which will be paid via cashiers check or money order with 7 days of auction ending.
