You will be bidding on country music legend and Country Music Hall of Famer George Jones' personal Ford pickup truck!George bought this pickup new in Nashville in 1993 and drove it until I bought it in 2007. George’s title indicates the odometer reading was 116,247 miles. That’s an average of just 8,290 miles a year. George also used this pickup on his Franklin farm, just outside of Nashville. During the last 9 years George’s pickup has been kept in a garage except for the driving of 5,600 miles, taking it to events as the personal pickup of George Jones for 14 years from 1993 to 2007. Verifying George’s ownership of the pickup is a color copy, front and back, of the original title with George’s name on it. After the copy was made, George’s title was mailed in to the State in exchange for the present title. The present title will be provided at the time of sale. Also provided will be pictures of the truck, George standing beside the truck, George autographing the dash, and of the title. Also provided is the truck's original Ford window sales sticker with the truck’s price and options.I purchased George’s pickup in 2007 for $5,300.00. At the time of purchase George told me the transmission had been slipping at times and jokingly said he wondered if it had anything to do with him pulling tree stumps out on his farm. Right after buying the pickup I had a new transmission installed for $2,463.61. This month George’s pickup was placed in a Nashville shop and serviced for a little over $3,000, bringing it up to top running condition. All the above expenses total a little over $10, 700.00 Documented repair receipts will be provided.Only$800.00 has been added to the total truck expenses to arrive at the $11,500.00 reserve amount. This also means that just $1,000.00 above truck expenses is being asked for the reserve, although this pickup was originally owned and driven by country music icon George Jones for 14 years, from 1993 to 2007. This truck will be on display at the 14thAnnual Stars of Country Music Yard Sale on June 5th, 6th&7th, nearthe Grand Ole Opry House. The yard sale isat2416 Music Valley Drive, behind the “Music City Bar&Grill”. It begins at7:00 a.m.and ends at4:00 p.m.each day, and the pickup will be on display all 3 days.
