1947 5 Window Coupe
Let me start by saying that this car does not belong to me. It belongs to a dear friend. His father recently passed and left him this Coupe and a 1955 Crown Victoria ( see other listings by me).
He owned this 1947 for 40 years. In the 80's it received a body off restoration. The miles were then ran back to 0. This car has only been driven 59.7 miles since that time. DON'T GET ME WRONG.THIS CAR IS NOT A TRAILER QUEEN. But where are you going to find another one in this condition for the money? Everything on this car was rebuilt at the time of the restoration.
It has the optional 100 horsepower Flathead V8 and the Super Rare Columbia 2 speed vacuum rear end. This car has vintage air that blows snowballs, Front disc brake conversion as well as alternator conversion. There are lots of original/spare parts in the trunk and on the back seat. It has mainly been in storage all these years (carport).
In my opinion, the undercarriage is the nicest thing about the car. It just needs a little washing off. The wheels are vintage SPRINT. This car has that GASSER look. The interior is also really nice. The radio does not work. All of the rubbers, seals and gaskets are straight, shiny, and not pitted. The only bad thing on the whole car is the paint job.
Now I might need a professional paint & body man to help me here. The car was completely stripped in and out. The trunk ONLY was soda blasted. The entire car was etch primed, then Imron paint was applied. Upon my review and little knowledge of paint, the blistering on the trunk is not rust (too hard and not flaky). There are also a couple of runs in the the left font fender underneath the chrome trim. A great paint man might could blend these areas. But I would recommend a complete Outside paint job so you will know what you have.If you know what causes this blistering in the paint, feel free to chime in.
To discuss this car in detail, feel free to call Scotty @601-754-1794 or if you would like to make an offer. Once the reserve is met. The auction will run until the end. I can also get you in touch with the owner if you would like to speak with him personally.
Disclaimer: As buyer and seller we both have rights. I have described everything on this car to my best ability and with honesty. As the buyer and by placing a bid, you are agreeing that due diligence has been served and you are completely satisfied and also have the funds to purchase readily available. The deposit on this car $800.00 within 24 hours and NON-REFUNDABLE.Sold AS-IS . No exceptions. Now, let's have an auction.
