Up for auction is an opportunity that you don't see every day, so don't miss out! What we have here is a one-family owned survivor truck that has been garage kept since day one! It was bought brand new in Maryland from Bob Davidson Ford, which is still in business! The original dealers invoice is still with the truck, as well as the original factory assembly plant build sheet, which is still under the seat in between the springs and foam. The original sales brochure is also included. The truck still retains 95% of it's original paint. The sheet metal is rust free and has never been taken apart. The interior is original and is in like new condition. (Yes, even the seat upholstery!) The story goes that the day the original owner went to pick up the truck, he brought with him a generic cloth seat cover to put over the original upholstery before he even sat in it to drive it home. That cover would stay on that seat up until a few months ago. In addition, the gentleman ordered a cap for the bed the first week he had the truck, thus protecting the bed floor from the elements and preserving it in such fine rock-solid condition. The amazing aspect of this truck, (one of many I should say) is the 102,607 meticulously cared for miles that the owner drove this truck. He obviously cared for this truck greatly and it was his pride and joy, maintaining it mechanically and cosmetically over the course of his life. At some point in the truck's life, the original 360 engine was upgraded to a period correct 390 which was mildly worked over. He continued to use the truck regularly up until he could no longer drive it due to health issues. He parked it back in his garage of a barn in his backyard (as shown in 2 of the pictures). He jacked it up and properly stored it on jack stands, where it sat for many a years until the day I acquired it. Truly a preserved time capsule indeed, dust and all! Upon getting the truck home, my friend and I went thru it very carefully to keep the originality of the truck and to enhance those aspects of it. A good cleaning and light polishing of the paint brought that factory applied Limestone Green Metallic paint gleaming again! The interior was cleaned just as thoroughly with a fine soft bristle brush to get in all the detailed areas of the dash and surrounding areas. The dash pad is still soft and pliable like the day it left the factory. The seat upholstery is in immaculate condition, as is the original color keyed rubber floor mat. The storage area behind the seat is impeccable, with the paint color shining just as bright as the outside of the truck. Everything on this truck works as it should. The truck runs and drives like a new 1974 Ford F100 did back then. We performed a fresh tune up on the truck, installed new front disc brake rotors and pads, new shocks, greased all movable parts, installed a new radiator, belts and hoses, rebuilt the carburetor, and bought 4 new tires. The truck has factory power steering, manual front disc brakes, automatic transmission, rear step bumper, and also the Ranger package. We drive this truck to car shows and around town with no issues. Truck is very reliable and rides extremely nice. Front end is tight and the truck has plenty of power. This is a truck that you can drive home today and take it to any car show and stand out from any other vehicle there. I hope the new owner will continue on the appreciation and care for this truly amazing time capsule of a truck like the original owner did each and every day.
