This is a 1979 F-250 2wd W/ a 302 swap.
This truck is a 3 owner vehicle. It was in my family from 1979 to 2006 and now again for the last few months.
This truck is a low mile truck that was only used a few times in the summers for hauling the family camper. It was then sold in 2006 to the local boys ranch where it was used to shuttle around the ranch. The 3rd owner was in construction and he used it to drive back and forth to sites.
The truck saw most of its demise with the third owner. The 460 was removed and replaced with a 302 for better gas mileage, so im told. At this time the spare fuel tank was also removed which somehow cause the fuel sender to stop working. So no working gas gaugeat the moment. The main big tank is still there tho in the rear. He also backed into a site toolbox and smashed the drivers rear bed panel kinda good. I took it to a body shop and they told me the damage was limited to the bed panel and the tailgate pin. They quoted me at 450 to install an LMC bed side panel. Thats more of a reference as to the cost of the damage repair. This owner also removed the factory radio and installed an aftermarket one by trimming alittle bit out of the factory radio hole. However, the aftermarket one was removed when i purchased the truck. Also a fairly cheap fix. The 302 engine swap could be a little tidier but it works and is daily driven. Or at least driven when im not driving my other two cars. There are a few vacuum hoses that need to be installed to get everything up to par particularly the cold idle and start. When i start the truck on a cold morning It will start and run but i cant put it into drive until under the hood is all warmed up or itll die. On warm days there is no issues. The brake light is on bc there is low pressure to the brake booster, again bc of the vacuum issue.
Lastly, The front passenger tire needs replaced asap. It is out of round and at about 60 mph bounces like a Harlemglobe trotter basketball on free admission night.
From the pictures you can see there isnot too much rust other than what i listed above. All of it fairly easy fixes. I was told while the truck packages aren't rare per-say, the color and package combos are.
The reason I am selling is b/c I still owe on my other two vehicles and i would like to put the money into something I owe on rather than something I don't.
I will not take a personal check, and will only take a certified check from a major bank. Ask before hand which ones i'm comfortable with.
Shipping is an option but any forms of funds must be verified, deposited, and cleared before the truck goes with the shipper. So cash again is king.
If you have any questions i am happy to answerand will respond quickly.
