Car description

For sale:1968 Ford Bronco Sport, sold new and lived in the sagebrush and prickly pear cactus of the Montana high desert. One family owned for 47 years, I purchased from a local friend whose father bought it in 1970. He used it as a second rig for hunting, fishing, and camping and then passed it to his son. Originally Peacock blue, was repaintedmany years agoto a darker blue as that was Dad's favorite color. The son also used it for hunting and as a backup driver. Starts, runs, and drives out well and 289 was rebuilt about 20k miles ago. Runs strong and smooth, sounds great with new Flowmaster exhaust, and it's a ball to drive. Needs very little to use as is, enjoy and improve it as you go or restore. Still has the original owners and service manuals and original jack, handle and lug wrench. Marti report included. Please see linked Photobucket album below for more detail pics, including underside.
Exterior: Paint is tired but looks decent enough to draw compliments and offers everywhere I stop. Truck has some of the typical Bronco rust, but nothing like the sitting-at-the-bottom-of-a-lake rot so often seen on these. Thankfully Montana is arid country and sand, not salt, is used on the roads. Some rust in driver rocker as shown, under hood in the usual spots, and driver floor has had a repair. Please see linked Photobucket album for 100 pics that include detailed underside pics.Left front fender has a dentas shown.Tailgate has been replaced but gate and hatch both work. Haven't pulled floor mats out but probably going to be some surface rust under the mats, looks good from underside. Roof has extra holes for a rack, and appears to have had a repair with extra rivets added. Glass is good, original Carlite windshield has onechip. Currently running inside spare tire holder but outside carrier is included.

Interior: Driver quality, looking tired and needs a refresh -thankfully there are plenty of Bronco outlets that sellall theneeded items. Most everything works, all gauges, lights, wipers, heater blower, etc. Driver side door lock is hard to lock with key. Original front seats have been recovered, they are in good shape, original back seat is included but it needs to be redone.

Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out fine. 289 was professionally rebuilt approximately 20k miles ago and receipt($1650) is included. Original 3 speed works well and was upgraded to floor shift as most of these were. Shows 99k miles and that is indicated as actual on paperwork, and I have every reason to believe it is. Starts, runs, drives out well. With 4.10 gear it's very peppy, but not an interstate highway cruiser. As far as I know most everything works- all gauges, lights, wipers, heater blower, etc. Per previous owner both fuel tanks work, but I've only ran off one. Tight as one of these old rattletraps can be, doors close great. Typical old 4x4 minor leaks but nothing serious - a few small drips. Stops well but will pull to the left sometimes if it's been sitting. Wheels in good condition, 31 x 10.50 tires have decent tread but one tire is a different brand.

Pricing/Misc: If you've been searching for an early Bronco, you know that prices are absolutely nutty. What I see for salenoware either field-rotted tubs or restored trucks - there are few decent driver quality rigs left, and the ones I find are insanely expensive. There is NO RESERVE, this truck will sell.

This rig runs and drives fine, but flying in and driving it long distance isn't a good option. Montana is a huge state and it's a long way between towns. In many areas there are few services and poor cell service. Truck transport for this Bronco isreadily available, and probably cheaper than fixing rust on an eastern tetanus truck. Montana title isclear with no liens, signed off and notarized ready for you to fill in your name as purchaser .After the sale, I can store the truck for up to 30 days free, after that $100 per month storage will be due. Buyer needs to get insurance as soon as car is paid for as I will cancel mine at that time.
