1955 Ford Thunderbird Listed on behalf of Monte Shelton Located in PORTLAND, OREGON This Thunderbird rolled off of the Ford Dearborn assembly line on May 7, 1955. It was delivered to the Seattle Branch and has remained in the Pacific Northwest for the past 62 years. It was restored about 15 years ago by a long-time Classic Thunderbird Club International member as a part of his large, award-winning Thunderbird collection. When restored, everything was done to make this car a standout. The rust-free body was stripped to bare metal and re-painted in correct Torch Red color. Beautifully done with a deep shine. All chrome was re-plated and trim polished. The interior was correctly restored in red and white, as original. Manual windows. 4-way power seat. Radio upgraded to AM/FM Cassette. Factory hardtop. Recently fitted with a NEW convertible top. Please see photos. Mechanically, this Bird is excellent. Rebuilt original 292 V8 with 8.5:1 compression creating 198 horsepower. Fordomatic automatic transmission shifts nicely. Power steering. Converted to 12 volt electrical. Parade fan added for cool running during stop-and-go driving in hot weather. Nicely detailed under the hood. Recently fitted with NEW radial tires. A great package all-around. Please see video of engine running. I have personally driven this car and it runs and drives without fault. Plenty of power. Excellent acceleration. Smooth and fast. Stops well. Perfect for weekend cruising or local shows. It draws attention and "thumbs up" wherever it goes. If you are looking for a classic first-year Thunderbird, this is a fine one. Fly-in and drive it home. A realistic reserve has been placed on this car in keeping with its quality and condition. Please bid accordingly. WE WILL HAPPILY SELL TO BIDDERS WORLDWIDE. Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK!
