Car description

1951 Ford Woody Wagon
A nice, presentable Country Squire wagon ready to be enjoyed. Originally purchased as a mascot for our business, we realized it was time to let it go due to our lack of use. We put less than 2,000 miles on it during our ownership primarily to have fun and visit the local center on the weekends, with a current odometer reading of 03448. An older restoration, we purchased this in 2003 after it was restored in Orange County sometime in the 1990's. The vehicle is in Hawaii, but has not been used or exposed to the weather as we live in a driest part of the state in a mountainous desert area. During our ownership, we have kept it in our enclosed garage away in the from the ocean. Over the years, we've tried to keep it's vintage feel, but upgraded some mechanical items to make it more enjoyable, usable and safer. Cosmetically, we have taken care of it well and it looks the same as when we initially purchased it. The body is straight with no rust and paint looks good. The wood on the car is in good shape, and the flaws I have taken detailed pictures of were there when we purchased it 14 years ago. There is a 4" dent on the roof that I just discovered which I have included in the pictures. The dent looks like it can be easily pushed out from inside as it does not have a crease in it. The chrome looks good with some flaws in the front grill section which I have documented in the pictures. The interior looks good with seat belts added for all. Mechanically it drives well and starts immediately. The gauges are in working order. The clock and the radio are present, but they do not function and we have not investigated why. The car has been converted to 12V.
Some notable upgrades during our ownership include the following:1. Offenhauser 1069-400 1949-53 Ford Flathead Finned Aluminum Heads2. Vintage Air air conditioning system with auxiliary fan3. Upgraded brake system including new vacuum booster, master, valves and hoses4. Remote control power door locking system5. Electric wipers6. Mallory Advance distributor with breakerless ignition and HD coil
Some of the maintenance and repair items we performed included:1. New front and rear shocks2. New u-joints3. New engine & trans mounts4. Balance flywheel and clutch5. Steering adjustment and coil adjustment to balance height6. Install volt controller for gauges7. Rebuilt alternator8. New fuel sending unit9. Replace front sway bar bushings10. New radiator, thermostat, hoses, and elbows11. New spark plugs12. Install Optima Battery
The vehicle has a clean title, and I will take care of all shipping arrangements and costs to the West Coast pickup points listed below after full payment of the agreed to sales price. Vehicle would be available for pickup at the shippers San Diego, Oakland, or Los Angeles, CA pickup points. Transfer of ownership will occur when I drop off the vehicle at the shipper.
