1935 Ford Model 48 DeLuxe Convertible Sedan I am very proud to showcase this gorgeous vintage '35 Ford DeLuxe Convertible Sedan. This special car has a lengthy Texas history dating back to the 1970s at least. This car was owned for over 30 years by a beloved local car collector / classic car enthusiast who recently passed away. He kept this car in a climate controlled private showroom in his special collection. This car was restored over 35 years ago and is striking in its its Tacoma Cream with Tan paint combination. This is a beautiful example of Ford's historic 1935 model year in a low production convertible sedan (Model 48-740) configuration. I hope you enjoy this presentation as much as I enjoyed working with this car. Be sure to check out the special video presentation as well. SEE OUR VIDEO TOUR AND ROAD TEST OF THIS '35 FORD BELOW https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICFdJ_PG-_8 CLICK MY VIDEO TOUR & ROAD TEST OF THIS '35 FORD CONVERTIBLE SEDAN - SEE ABOVE ^ ^FEATURES & SPECIFICATIONS : 1935 Ford Model 48 Convertible Sedan (48-740) Correct 221 Cubic Inch Flathead V8 Engine ; Correct 68-6050-B Iron Heads 3-Speed Manual Transmission Functional Emergency Brake Handle 6-Volt Charging System Ford Wire Wheels - Wide Whitewall Tires x 5 - FORD V8 Wheel Caps & Beveled Beauty Rings - Rear Mounted Spare DeLuxe Accessory Greyhound V8 Ornament - Rare Original Vintage Set of Matching 1935 Texas License Plates Tacoma Cream Exterior with Hand Pinstripe & Tan Fenders & Spare Cover - All Steel Bod, Fenders, Running Boards, Hood, Trunk, Doors Brown Leather Seat Upholstery Front & Rear Canvas Convertible Top in very good Condition & Color-Keyed Original Side Posts Roll-Up Side Windows Front & Rear Banjo Steering Wheel Dual Exterior Mirrors Amber Fog Lamps Ash Tray Front & Rear Bumper Guards Dual Chromed Exterior Horns - Last Year The paint is over 35 years old, kept out of the weather and in remarkably good condition. The body is all steel and in great shape as well. The finish is a striking combination of Tacoma Cream with full fenders & running boards in tan, a hand painted pinstripe along the body line. 1935 would be the first year for the Model 48 body style. Warmly received, 800,000+ Fords were sold for the model year, surpassing Chevrolet as the sales leader. Rightly so, this design was gorgeous from the grille to the tail lamps. Very few of these 4-door DeLuxe Convertible Sedans were produced, only 4,234. The engine compartment displays the correct 221 cubic inch Flathead V8 engine. This is a good running car. The 3-speed transmission shifts good with no unusual noises, however 2nd gear sometimes does not fully engage without firm effort in the shift. Once you are in 2nd, it seems to stay OK. The car goes through 1st, 3rd, and reverse fine. We have logged several miles on this car, be sure and see the video. It has spent the majority of the past 35 years in an indoor showroom, periodically started and moved around. The car is kept stored indoors today in a private showroom.Open the doors to 1935. The interior features beautiful vintage '35 Ford gauges, the speedometer will need attention to function. Also, there is a crack on the speedometer lense. The temperature gauge & charging gauge are functioning. The oil pressure gauge was an option. The reciprocating ashray was standard equipment in lieu of a radio. The Banjo steering wheel has a few broken spokes (see photos) The brown leather seat upholstery is in very good condition, showing minimum age front & rear. The door panels are also in good condition. The carpeting is worn in the back, while the front has an antique mat. The structure of this car is very good. The front & rear doors open and close tightly without excess movement or clearance. We have the color-keyed side posts. I will add photos with the soft top up and windows, posts in place soon. The top and posts are in very good condition. The Greyhound V8 Ford Ornament is still in place. The hood cowls open and close as they should. There are a few chips along the hinged area of the hood and near the Greyhound ornament. I believe this is a lacquer finish. It does not have any checking thanks to being kept indoors out of the sun for decades. The frame is straight and in very good condition, indicative of an older restoration that has been kept indoors. There is some isolated rust in the floor in a few areas, see the photo above of the front floor pan edge. There is also some rust behind the driver's side wheel in the floor pan, see the photos below. The suspension was rebuilt front to back in the past and hasn't been driven much sense.
