Up for auction is a 1966 Ford Mustang… The “Black Stallion” build was a professional, well thought out, no-expense spared…and a true labor of love build. The result is an Absolutely STUNNING, super-high National show quality Mustang Fastback which runs, rides, and drives as good as it looks. There are no details left out and the car is complete and ready to go! The build was completed last year and the car has less than 500 miles since then.

Paint & Body:

Arguably one of the most important aspects of car building is body and paint. This single aspect of a car makes up 90 percent of its appearance. It not only has the biggest impact on a person when they first see the car, but it is also one of the things people will still be talking about after they are done looking at it. After all, so much can be said about the quality of a car just based on the body and paint. A super-straight, high-gloss paint job with incredible depth shows just how much patience and time was spent getting the car to that level. Plus, if the body and paint is that good, the same can probably be said for the rest of the car.

If you don’t believe that body and paint is that important, think of how many times you have looked at a car and thought, “I can’t believe how straight it is and how deep the paint is.” Then of course, that statement is usually followed with a question, “How did they do that?”

THIS IS THAT CAR!!

The goal was to make this car as straight as possible and the paint as deep as the eye can see…and success was achieved.

The paint and body on this Mustang is incredible… and this car is a big time future Award winner.

Engine: Stroker engines are very popular these days. Why a 331 Stroker? While 347ci Strokers are OK… some say the 331 is a better choice of engine package due to its better rod ratio, lighter assembly, and higher rpm capability. A 347 owner will tell you that his engine makes a ton of torque, but the engine is far from a high-rpm screamer. The 331 puts more torque on the table (over a stock displacement small-block) yet still offers the high rpm capability. Essentially, the 331 becomes a nice middle ground of torque, horsepower, and rpm ability, while offering the potential for longer service life over the 347 of similar build.

This engine is a perfect street engine for an early Mustang. It is maintenance-free power with high rpm ability, and being able to use pump gas (high octane) for "stop anywhere" fill ups… This motor is a small block Ford masterpiece!

The motor was built at Allison’s Machine Shop in Asheboro NC…High-Performance parts include Pro Comp aluminum heads, JE Forged Pistons, Scat crank, and Erson Cams Roller Rockers. The engine is fed by a Triple 2-barrel intake with 3 Holley 260cfm carburetors (6-Pack)… the list number on the carbs are 2881 primary and 2882 secondary’s. It is currently running Autolite Racing AR3924 plugs with Summit Racing Street & Strip 8mm wires. The exhaust is accomplished through Summit Racing Metallic-Ceramic full length headers into stainless X-Pipes into Magnaflow Stainless mufflers and finally out thru the GT rear trumpets.

Under the hood you will also see an all new Air Conditioning system, billet distributor, new radiator, Ford Racing valve covers, aluminum water pump, new Ford battery, and more.

The transmission is a Ford “Toploader” 4-speed and the rear end is the factory Ford 8” housing with a 3:50 gear. (the factory gear was a 2:80 Limited Slip)

The wheels are polished Shelby Cobra 17” with custom made Redline tires 225/45/ZR17’s front and 235/45/ZR17’s on the rear. It has disc brakes on all four corners…

Interior: The interior is stock restored including a new woodgrain steering wheel with center cap and working horn. It also has a working Rally Pack including Tachometer and Clock. The stereo is aftermarket with a power antenna that goes up when the stereo is turned on and the stereo sounds good. Of course, the carpet, headliner and seats are all restored as well. It has cold Air Conditioning, Hurst shifter, and interior lights… Note: there are no seatbelts installed.

This is a high dollar restoration and it runs, drives, and handles as good as it looks and the “Black Stallion” is a real pleasure to drive!
