Car description

Here you're looking at a 1946 Ford Gasser that has been in the family since 1967, 50 years this year. I'm going to try to list everything I've done to it but I'm sure I'll miss something, Speedway motors gasser front end and vega box. Also went to Progressive Automotive and bought the Tubular X member that I had all welded together as you can see in the pics. Boxed in the front frame rails for extra support as you can also see. 4 wheel disc brakes, rears are slotted and drilled, kit was from get disc brakes "The Right Stuff"! Its the Ford 9" big bearing kit. All new brake lines to the brakes and master cylinder with booster. Brand new gas tank, factory style with all new fuel lines ran up front. As you can see on the underneath I mounted the transmission oil cooler with electric fan and thermostat and tucked it up behind the transmission. The transmission has a 3500 stall converter in it, and was just all freshened up with the build. It's a C6 with blue plated clutches & Kolene steels and also has the fully manual reverse valve body from TCI along with a scatter shield and deep aluminum pan. B&M pro shifter. The restore started some years back. It has a 460 bored .30 over, 466CI with diamond flat Top pistons -5.0cc, 4.390" bore, 3.850" stroke, 6.605" rod, 1.765"CD, 1.040" x 2.930 pin. Also has the Diamond pro select plasma moly rings. 10:5.1 compression with the 72cc aluminum cobra jet heads. This is a non roller motor but does have roller rocker arms but flat tappet cam and lifters by ford motorsport. Also has the ford motorsports m-6250-A443 cam, specs are Intake lift=.562 and Exhaust lift=.588 very good performance cam and sounds really good. Also has a Keith Black gear drive that whines real good. The block came out of another street rod we had and was sent out boiled, bored and gone over. All new parts on the inside, forged crank, standard 460 ford heavy truck rods, clevite bearings, new freeze plugs, ford motorsports high volume oil pump, hardened oil pump shaft, new cam bearings and all this has under 100 miles on the build. Has the larger fel-pro intake gaskets and the heads were port matched to the gasket as well as the intake was sent out for a full stage 3 porting job, its the Polished Edelbrock RPM/Air Gap. Quick fuel Q series 950 carburetor with 2" aluminum spacer and large round K&N filter. Tall aluminum fabricated valve covers, polished alternator, polished pulleys, electric water pump, Big 4 core aluminum radiator with the aluminum shroud built on and a puller electric fan. MSD 6AL2 box, MSD blaster coil, 9MM wires, B&M startek starter for electronics. Also has a ididit chrome tilt wheel along with the blue metallic "california gassers" steering wheel. The new gas pedal was all from Lokar. All of the door panels, front and rear and kick panels just got redone over the winter. The carpet is all brand new and their is sound deadening and heat resistant material from the top of the firewall down to the floor and all the way back to the rear of the front seat. The front wheels and tires are brand new, the rear tires are Mickey Thompson E/T with the Team III Wheels "fueler" wheel that was special ordered. The complete exhaust system was all hand built and goes down to 4" piping with two 30 series 4" in and 4" out flowmasters. $3800.00 in exhaust work alone. Sounds incredible! I sent all of the exhaust that visible back to the muffler and had it all ceramic coated. There is carpet in the trunk, all glued down. The wheel wells and the rear of the back seat are not upholstered. All new guages, completely re wired and no fuses it's all relays and they're all together on the driver side above the kick panel. All of the dash light work, speedometer needs a new cable and the dash is in exceptional shape. All the lights around the car work great, I replaced the rear taillights with LED's, much easier to see. The entire car was taken down to bare metal, body work is unreal! This car is straight as can be and had a 2 stage paint done with heavy flake as you can see in the picture. This car turns heads everywhere you go, it is very quick and makes a lot of noise. When anyone asked me how it drives with that front axle I tell them you don't even know its there. No bump steer as I'm sure with the weight of the big block it helps out. This is truly a treasure and worth every dime. I could probably list another page that I forgot but if you have questions just email me. One of the last pics was one of the rear of the car and yes I have put the bumper back on. I have plenty of other pictures of the car, I could only upload so many. I have a clean and original title. The hoses coming off the front fuel tank on the bumper are just dummy hoses for looks as I'm sure you know by looking at it. I didn't install a radio for two reasons, you probably couldn't hear it and didn't know exactly what I wanted. There is a spot as you can see where the factory deck was at that we cut out a template for a new deck. I forgot to mention it is a ford 9" with 4:11 gears. Most all of the work was done by Route 66 rods out of St Louis MO, except motor, trans, and paint. I can also email you video of the car idling and driving along with extra pictures. I can video the car with the headers capped and uncapped or whatever you want, it's truly a beast for sure. I was going to take the car to Mecum in Kansas City last weekend and couldn't make it due to some things that came up.
