Car description

ESTATE SALE : I am helping a neighbor and friend sell part of their estate. I am a old car driver and familiar with the computer so they asked me to help. ATTENTION at the time of sale you will be introduced to and pay the widow and son of a popular local car collector. I am merely facilitating. The gentleman owned this truck for many years and had it completely restored. However he passed on about 7 years ago and just now the family is ready to let a couple go. Before it was put up for sale it was pulled out of hibernation and it was sent back to a Model A restore shop for a complete go over. Approx. $2000. was spent and now the truck is 100% ready to be enjoyed!! Following is information attained from that shop:*Exceptional California truck. All original sheet metal. Very straight and solid. Absolutely 0 rust. ever. *Steel Cab with soft top. (cab model 82-B) No flaws found. *Narrow bed (78-A) w/ varnished oak inserts and sideboards. *Body color is "Buttercup" yellow w/ black fenders. aprons and running boards. A few small chips and or scratches but very presentable and an easy touch-up. *Yellow 19" wheels with older 4. 75X19 inch tires. Tires have plenty of tread and look like new. however. some cracks and checking from storage time. *Very smooth running stock Model "A" engine. # A 1722222. New commercial grade 6 volt battery installed. Starts easily and runs beautifully. *Original model "A: transmission / rear end (3:78-1) and running gear. *New water pump w S/S shaft and modern "leak less" seals. *Original 6 volt with perfect wiring and new battery. *Professionally rebuilt original Zenith carburetor. *Original shocks are in perfect operational order. *Original style black vinyl interior in excellent condition. *Single side-mount spare tire (left) with original style side view mirror. *Steel accessory ladder rack mounted on right side of bed for transporting long items. Great advertising for contractors and others. *Model "A" Trico vacuum windshield wiper. *Rebuilt gas gauge. all others work including speedo/odo. *Stainless steel radiator shell and headlights. *Original Sparton Aa-ooo-ga horn*All windows safety glass. Windows work smoothly. door open and close quietly with little effort. * Cleaned out radiator. Note: Original old MotoMeter radiator cap is still being freed up from setting so long. An original style is on it now. (note some pictures are with the cap off)* Brakes were adjusted and work well. Summary: "The vehicle was owned by a local well known car collector. It was in storage for it's life while it was being used and more recently for a few years. This is exceptionally solid truck and has been well maintained. All the fenders and body panels are solid with no signs of body work. Mechanically it needs nothing. A new set of tires is recommended before extensive highway use. Complete pictured reguvination report is available. "Truck is being sold as-is and where is. Buyer must pick-up or arrange shipping. However we can help find worldwide shipping at the buyers expense. If you want more pictures or description please do not hesitate to ask. Bid with confidence as this is a remarkably nice truck. We are placing a very very fair reserve on the vehicle as it does need to sell. You can leave a message at (805) 460-7188 and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Car is for sale locally so we need reserve the right to end early. On Jan-13-15 at 22:08:24 PST. seller added the following information:I added pictures of the moto-meter that is period correct and comes with the truck. We got it freed (as it was frozen from setting) but have not reinstalled. On Jan-14-15 at 17:19:11 PST. seller added the following information:I have had a couple "A" experts write to say it is a late 1930 model even though it is titled and licensed as a 1931. Just wanted to clarify. I'm told that late 30s models were sometimes sold right in to early 1931. It's a beauty either way! The reserve has been lowered for the last time. It needs to sell even if it doesn't reach its full potential. So please only bid if you are sincere and ready to purchase.
