Car description |

Ever wonder where the Boss 302 got its name? While the 'Boss' label makes a lot of sense for a car that destroyed the competition, the name actually came from a more literal meaning. Larry Shinoda, the man credited as the designer of the Boss 302, was once asked about what project he was working on and in order to keep the project a secret, he simply replied "the Boss's Car". Forty-seven years later the Boss stands as one of the most iconic American Muscle Cars ever built, and Lusso is honored to present this beautiful, restored, numbers matching, and documented 1970 Boss 302 finished in Wimbledon White over Black Clarion Knit/Corinthian Interior.
Exterior. Recipient of a complete documented restoration that was done in 2001 by Jim Boyd (Mustang Concourse Judge), the Boss was refinished in its original Wimbledon White finish that shows excellent throughout. The exterior was originally optioned with the Sport Slats, Rear Deck Spoiler. The original Magnum 500 Wheels are wrapped in Goodyear raised letter F60 tires.
Interior. The interior of the Mustang shows very original and is a blast from the past, as most of the factory pieces were reused. The Black Decor seats, and rear Sport Deck Seats show very minimal wear. The gauge cluster was optioned with a Tachometer and Trip Odometer, and a fairly rare Tilt steering column was outfitted when the car was built in November of 1969. An AM radio option rounds out the interior.
Performance. The heart of the Boss is date and period correct D0Z 302-4V, and is mated to a close ratio 4 speed Manual transmission. A Traction-Lok 3.91 Rear end puts it underrated 290Hp to the ground. This particular Boss was also optioned with Powersteering which according to the Marti Report makes it 1 of 1 to ever be optioned this way!
