1961 Ford Falcon 2 door.
No reserve auction! Selling my 1961 Ford Falcon 2 door, a Corinthian white De-luxe model, bought as an original rust free north Kansas car, sitting in a barn, unused for many years. At some point, a Mustang 1966 200-6 motor and its 4-speed Dagenham gearbox was swapped in along with an 8" Mustang 5 lug rear end. I have since rebuilt the front suspension and added corresponding V8 spindles, improved '65 steering linkage and larger 5 lug front drums. The car drives well in its current configuration but is ready for a V8 swap if so desired by the next owner. I had originally thought I might autocross the car and made some period type modifications to it. However, I have decided to focus on another project and so must move this car on.Clear KS title in my name.
New:4 matching low profile 175/65x14 tires on bead blasted rimsSkimmed drums, new brake shoes, hoses and wheel cylinders and master cylinder4 New heavy duty shocks1965 Mustang GT front sway bar and poly bushesNew lower suspension armsShelby 1"drop, relocatedA arms, new ball jointsNew clutch kitCylinder head core plugs replacedExide BatteryNew plugs, points, condensor, cap and radiator hosesNew gas tank sender and tank hose.
The motor benefits from a skimmed head, port divider and six branch Clifford header, cherry bomb and side exit exhaust. Sounds great! The body andchassis railsare amazingly rust free, no floor patches or replacement panels. No bumpers or rear seat. I added an aluminum barrier between the trunk space and interior. The interior is largely stripped out, no carpets door cards or headlining. I have installed a pair of 1966 Ford Mustang seats which are in great original condition, tach is not hooked up, gas gauge has lost its needle but the aviation-type oil pressure gauge works fine. The car has its original generator which may need to be replaced with an alternator or just re-energized as the no charge light is showing. Lights all work but not the turn signals or horn. The car runs and drives well but is race car loud! The dagenham 4 speed tranny is a rarity in a Falcon butshifts well, stays in all the foreword gears but tends to jump out of reverse. May need the linkage adjusting. It has a modified dog house from a different Falcon modelthe brakes would benefit from further adjustment, the car has not had an alignment since the front suspension work so it is still a work in progress.
Deposit of $500.00 to be paid after the auction, I can keep the car for upto 2 weeks after the auction has ended providing full payment has been made. Feel free to ask questions, I will try to add more photos.
In addition, for a little extra, I have acomplete1968 302 V8 motor ready for a rebuild with Falcon engine mounts if the new buyer wanted.
