After a severe shoulder injury at the gym, I have to let my 1991 project mustang go. I was in the midst of a full restoration with a substantial amount of money invested, but my loss is your gain. The car has been sitting for one year and it needs a new home.
New parts:
- The engine in the mustang is a rebuilt 306 (302 bored thirty over) Windsor V8. There are less than 10k miles on the rebuilt motor.
- The car has a GT40P cylinder heads that they have been milled with TFS springs installed.
- The intake manifold is also a GT40 high-flow model off of an explorer, and it has a BBK cold air intake on it. Currently the engine has the stock throttle body.
- The engine has an Isky camshaft installed with 265/275 duration and .500/.520 lift (Similar specs to the Ford E Camshaft).
- The car also has a BAMA tune and runs on high-octane pump gas, but it will eventually need a dyno tune.
- The engine harness is brand new.
- The fuel tanks and sending unit have also been updated.
- New custom exhaust system. The system includes mid-length headers, 2.5" stainless steel piping, high-flow catalytic converters, Magnaflow straight mufflers, and polished stainless steel tips. The car sounds mean with a great lope and it is a real head-turner.
The automatic transmission was rebuilt and it has a B&M ratchet shifter installed for quick shifting. The transmission has two issues though. First, the engine must be revved between shifts. A friend familiar with this type of transmission told me that the torque converter needs to be replaced. The speedo gear appears to be non-functional and the speedometer is no longer working. I have not had the transmission professionally diagnosed, so it might need another rebuild. Rebuilt AOD transmission can be purchased from Monster for around one-thousand dollars.
The interior needs substantial restoration work. Currently, there are black Corbeau racing bucket seats in it. The dash has been partially disassembled while I was was working on the stereo system. The stereo wiring will need to be replaced. The car currently has no stereo head unit in it. I have dyed and painted some of the interior components black (the interior was originally red). All of the interior components will be boxed and placed in the car for pickup. The rear-view mirror and one of the sun visors are missing.
As stated previously, the car has been sitting for one year. It is not currently running. I lost the original keys, but I have replacement keys and lockset ready for installation by the buyer. The right door has some sag, but I have replacement hinges available for it. The tires are completely worn out and have dry rot on them, so the car will need to be towed. The battery is no longer holding a charge and will need to be replaced. The car also has light surface rust in several areas and also on the bottom of the car. The car will need to be completely repainted and new weather stripping installed. Also, the windshield is cracked, and will need to be replaced as well. The suspension is stock. The convertible top works and it is in good shape. The rear quarter window motors are broken, but I have brand new motors available for installation.
This car has a ton of potential and it is a collector's car. Clean Texas title in hand. It just needs the right buyer to finish the rest of the restoration. I am no longer able to do it myself. Please closely examine the pictures. The buyer is fully responsible for shipping the car home.
