1966 Ford Mustang GT Convertible. According to the low VIN and build date, this is one of the first factory GT convertibles built for the 1966 model year. It had a frame up restoration completed in the early 1990's. And was "freshened up" in January 2013. It received a new paint job, carpet, center console inlay, steering wheel, gas tank, pedals, badging, original AM/FM radio (rare) among other things. The A code 289 was "upgraded" with Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Aluminum Heads, Edelbrock Aluminum Intake Manifold, Comp Cam, Griffin Aluminum Radiator, and new Holley Carburetor. Again, this is a very rare car. Only 4% of all Mustangs built in 1966 were factory GTs (that includes Coupes, Fastbacks, and Convertibles). And only 2% were convertibles with the luxury (Pony) interior. Hence, less than 2% were factory GT convertibles with pony interior. This car was appraised in June 2008 for $63,200. The current NADA value range is $64,150 (avg retail) to $88,080 (high retail). There are not very many 1966 Mustang GT convertibles left on the road, much less, one as straight and clean as this one.
