Car description

This 1930 Model A Speedster, recently restored, is representative of a period in history wherein from the late 1930's to the post World War II years of 1945 through the mid 1950's for the most part, "Hot Rodders" asthey were commonly referred to as created imaginative vehicles from whatever automotive sources they could lay their hands on. Commonly, these creations represented a conglomeration of numerous automotive manufacturers components, sourced from wrecking yards, abandoned cars, or traded components between each other. What resulted, are now iconic and historical pieces of automotive history, the likes of which will probably never be replicated again with respect to their artistry and imagination.
Available now for your consideration is a recently completed, and historically correct rendition of the aforementioned.
Sitting atop a 1930 Model A frame, suspension and brakes is a all steel 1925-26 Model T Body, hood, and Turtle Back trunk. The "drop" front axle provides for a moreaggressive appearance, and all suspension components, brakes (mechanical), king pins, springs etc.,are new.
The Model A 3.3 liter four cylinder flathead engine sports a refurbished Model B high compression cylinder head. The engine block amazinglyhas never been bored and maintains its original 3.876 inch bore and original Ford stamped intake and exhaust valves. This is unprecedented to see today. New piston ringswere installed, cylinders inspected and lightly honed, valves, seats, and block cleaned and checked as well as babbit bearings and crankshaft clearances, allwhich appeared to be within original manufactures specifications. New twin single throatcarburetors, custom performance intake manifold, mild performance camshaf, Reds Headers, and Cragar finned aluminum side cover, were added. Downstream, a new clutch assembly and Kiwi Quick change differential were added. The radiator, and water pump areadditionally brand new.
Wheels and tires are comprised of 1934 Ford V8 spoked rims and hubcaps, to which 5.25 and 7.0/16 BF Goodrich Silvertown tires are mounted.
Electrical components and wiring have beenupgraded to 12 volts, incorporating a new FSIgnition electronic distributor, 100 amp alternator, quick battery shut off power switch and 1935 GM twin light headlamps with halogen sealed beams.
Interior appointmentsof course are sparse, with new seat and cushion upholstery, and carpet. The seat belts are very unique and rare vintage quick release aviation belts. Not shown, but includedwith the Speedster are the original canvas top bowswhich should you choose can be recovered and mounted at the existingbody mount points.
In conclusion, this is a lovely and fun car to own and drive, which certainly garners a lot of attention due to its being unique. It represents a terrific candidate to enterinto vintage automobile tours and events. It is not designed to operate at 80 mph on todays highways and freeways, however runs quite comfortably on most streets and roads. Despite the fact they are referred to a "Speedsters" (and theywere faster than the average passenger car of their day), they are still primitive by todays standard. They do not perform as you would expectcontemporary vehicles to run today.
Finally, the Speedster will be sold as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. I encourage personalinspection prior to sale end, and will not permit inspections as a condition of sale after the sales end. I also reserve the right to end this listing early, given the Speedster is for sale on other international venues and locally. Please free to call with any questions and enjoythe pictures.
