This truck gets the job done. Big, strong, killer look, this 1977 Ford F-100 Custom is ready to work, play, or just take you just about anywhere you want to go, thanks to 4-wheel-drive and a great-running 351 V8 under the hood. Handsome good looks don't hurt, either. In the '70s, if you needed stuff hauled, no matter how big, a Ford like this was how you did it. As a result, finding a truck that hasn't been bashed and worked to within an inch of its life is no easy task. Fortunately, this one led an easier life of leisure living in Alabama with a single family, perhaps scouting remote hunting grounds or trekking across fields to get to a private fishing spot. The two tone red and silver paint is about a year old and shows only very minor signs of use, but by truck standards, it's almost too nice. There's no rust thanks to a lifetime in the Alabama sun, and it appears to be wearing all its original sheetmetal, so it's not like this is some wreck that was rebuilt. No, it's just a really clean heavy-duty pickup that's ready for new adventures. The chrome bumpers are brand new, the grille is in great shape, and the shiny moldings on its flanks surround the red paint, giving it a highly detailed look. The chrome step bumper out back that looks right at home on the big Ford and the bed has been finished with spray-in bedliner material and a set of matching rails on top.Black is the theme inside, where a fresh seat cover for the bench offers comfortable accommodations for three. The rubber floor covering is practical if you actually do anything outdoors, and there's a no-nonsense look to the dashboard. A small-diameter 3-spoke steering wheel wrapped in black looks great, and the original instruments are still intact, offering a pretty good idea of what's going on under the hood. The column-mounted shifter manages the C6 3-speed automatic transmission, while the selector for the transfer case is on the floor, where it belongs. Entertainment comes from a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo that sounds great, and no pickup truck is complete without a sliding rear window, which provides draft-free ventilation when the A/C isn't on. This is a big truck, but fortunately, there's a big V8 to move it around. The 351 is freshly rebuilt, and nicely dressed in bright Ford Blue paint along with an Edelbrock dress-up kit and bright red plug wires. Underneath there's a 4-barrel carburetor and an aluminum intake manifold, plus the ProForm ignition setup, so this V8 is more than just pretty. With a recent tune-up, it starts easily and runs well, and the rumble from the new Flowmaster dual exhaust system sounding more like a vintage muscle car than a big pickup. The chassis is heavy-duty enough to go just about anywhere thanks to a three-inch lift on the suspension, and with manual locking hubs, you don't have to worry about fragile parts getting broken at the least opportune moment. Brand new 15-inch Mickey Thompson alloys wear big 33x12.50-15 all-terrain tires that were just recently mounted. This truck is definitely up for whatever you're looking to do, and thanks to the heavy-duty hardware, you'll never have to worry about getting stuck. These vintage 4x4s never last at Streetside, especially when they're this clean Call today!
