Car description |

Beautiful, rotisserie restored Mach I by Scott’s Mustang Garage! Expertly completed in 2014 with truly outstanding results! Very nicely appointed with factory options that include R-code 428 V8, Select-Aire air conditioning, Power front disc brakes, power steering, C6 Automatic, 8-Track player, and more! Outstanding driver and show car combined!
A new design was in store for the Mustang for 1969, both inside and out. It grew in overall size while maintaining the same wheelbase as the prior year, but was now 1.5 inches lower to the ground. With 10 engine options available, and several special performance packages to choose from, Ford was not going to let many showroom buyers offer excuses not to buy a Mustang! A new Mach I package replaced the GT package as the premier performance option. This package automatically added a flat black hood with NASCAR style lock-down pins, reflective body side stripe, competition suspension, chrome wheels, color-keyed outside sport mirrors, and pop-open gas cap! It required the Sportsroof body design and nothing less than a 351ci V8 under the hood of course! Buyers flocked to showrooms to have one of their own!
This wonderful 1969 Ford Mustang Mach I is finished in factory code correct Wimbledon White (M5) with Black Mach I High-back deluxe bucket seat interior (3A). Factory appointments on this example include the R-code 428ci-4V Ram Air V8 with Shaker hood scoop, C6 Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, 3.00 rear axle ratio with factory 31-spline axles, power steering, power disc brakes, chrome 14” styled steel wheels, AM/FM/8-Track Stereo radio, all tinted glass, rim blow horn, and Lemans style finned aluminum valve covers.
Our Mach I was ordered from the New Orleans district, built in Dearborn, MI and sold new brand new from Bluff City Motors Inc. based in Natchez, MS on February 19th, 1969. It strayed from home making its way to Texas before heading to southern Ohio, then on to Michigan only 3 short years ago to fall into the hands of Scott Pickard of Scott’s Mustang Garage. Scott’s expertise in special interest Mustangs & Shelby’s runs deep, and his restoration results support his passion. With him completing only one project at a time, the dedication to each vehicle is unsurpassed!
In the case of this well-equipped Cobra Jet, he completely dismantled the entire car to focus on the body to ensure any and all rust was removed. With a rotisserie jig and portable frame machine in place, he carefully photo documented the restoration of the floor & trunk pans as if it had just left the factory. The vehicle’s body was all original, factory sheet metal when the process began, but Scott elected to replace the full rear quarters into the roof, even leading them in, along with outer door skins to ensure a perfect, rust free chassis. The gorgeous exterior paint and blacked out hood were refinished in the spring 2014 with new reflective body side stripe and fresh weather stripping! An all new interior as provided by TMI Products and looks amazing!
The balance of the mechanical overhaul was completed on a fresh 1969 date-coded engine fitted with stock heads rebuilt by Holbrook Racing, along with rebuilt original transmission and rear end! It shows quite well today with careful attention to original, factory appearance under the hood, undercarriage, as well as interior & exterior overall. He included photo documentation of the inner fender stamp, and the car possesses its factory-issued door data tag and dash VIN plate. Also replaced with the restoration was all-new wiring harnesses, entire exhaust system mated to the factory manifolds with correct quad tips at the rear; all new brakes at every corner with new hard lines & e-brake equipment; all new steering & suspension components including updated Borgeson steering box, all new fuel system from the gas tank to the fuel pump; and five brand new BF Goodrich Radial T/A raised white letter tires measuring 215/70R14! The factory style SelectAire conditioning system was updated to a Vintage Air system utilizing R134a refrigerant, modern compressor, and other component parts. This allows easier maintenance and colder air with a more efficient system as a whole. We are delighted to have this magnificent example on our showroom! It runs and drives excellently! All features are in working order including the dash clock now with Quartz movement. It should continue to be an excellent driver candidate for its next owner who wishes to enjoy driving their investment as much as polishing it! The mileage on the odometer reads 74,157 miles, but we feel it has less than 1,000 miles driven since completion. It will come with Deluxe Marti report and clear title. Please feel free to call with any additional questions, or to schedule an opportunity to see this vehicle in person! We look forward to your business!
