It is the right combination, finished in correct factory Bright Red with gray cloth seats, along with the legendary 5.0L V-8, 5-speed manual transmission, and highly optioned with power windows, power locks, and cruise control.It comes out of a private collection and the current owner is selling because he would like to focus on European vehicles. This Mustang, along with another Mustang GT that is fully restored but modified, are the final two vehicles offered out of the collection and were the most cherished by the owner. He is not to begin building his next collection until the sale of this collection is complete and these are the last two that he has offered for sale. He has held on to this one and another the longest because of his emotional attachment. Now, it is time to find a new home for these last two gems.
This year in particular is highly coveted as it is the only year the Fox body Mustang was produced with the sealed beam "4 eyes" headlights and multiport fuel-injected on the 5.0. The 1986 is easily identifiable by enthusiasts as it was also the only year the car was produced with the four sealed beam headlights along with the newly federally mandated high mount center stop light, which is integrated into the rear spoiler on this car.Each mile now logged on this beautiful example is carefully planned and executed to further preserve its true low mileage originality and status.
The exterior of this car is as close to perfection as you can get with no dents or dings present. The Mustang is 100% accident free and has had one professional respray done to factory quality specifications with the surface prep, paint quality, and OEM graphics being second to none.I am told the previous owner at the time decided to repaint the car with the intent to no longer use it regularly in order to "reset it to perfect" because it had a few minor scratches and rock chips from minimal practical use. Since then, it has been preserved with hardly any miles added other than the occasional trip around the block to keep it exercised. The mileage is true, original, and perpetually consistent with no rollbacks, etc.. The title is clear. This car has not been involved in any accidents, natural perils, or otherwise. The respray is high quality with good overall preparation, and this Mustang is 100% legitimate and investor grade.

This Mustang is not a "barn find" or previously neglected Mustang that someone ran across rotting away in an old lady's garage, etc. It has a solid history of long-term preservation and has been treated accordingly with regular owner-provided maintenance and routine professional checkups, and occasional and responsible short-distance exercise (in the last 60 days it has been exercised for a total of three miles).Inside, this Mustang is an absolute time capsule.The interior is perfect with virtually no carpet or seat wear on the bolsters, seat bottoms, or otherwise, with no sun damage to the interior or exterior rubber, plastic, or lenses. All the factory screen printing on the buttons and switches are just as vivid as when it left the factory.The shut lines and panel fitment are untampered and factory correct. The original carpets are like-new. All the screen printing on items such as the blinker and wiper stalks down the the factory cassette player buttons are intact and show no wear. Gauges are clean and clear. Doors are solid and tight with no sagging or "clunking" noises when opening and closing. The car drives just as though it left the showroom floor. The original 10.5" clutch system that was new for this year is tight and like-new.The current tires are approximately five years old but have seen virtually no miles. They are deep in rubber, and with indoor storage, have been protected from deteriorating UV light. They are mounted on newer OEM Fox body 16-inch wheels, but the factory 15" 10 hole wheels are included in the sale. Those tires are in excellent condition also, but are NOT the original Goodyear Gatorbacks that were OEM to the car.

This is a top-quality collectible that has been preserved since brand new.The paint and body are excellent and defect free. This car is accident free with no evidence of previous rust or body filler. No rust exists in areas that may see rust on other Mustangs such as under the doors or floorpans, on the panels behind the tires, cowling, hatch lid glass corners, or otherwise. The car has been kept indoors throughout its known history and never stored outside or driven in inclement weather. There is no undercarriage rot or deterioration. This car is investor quality with no known issues, etc. The exhaust system, along with every other component, is stock and unmodified.The only known issue is the air conditioning does need a R-12 recharge and the system has NOT been upgraded to R-134a.
