When you have a rare and fast classic Ford with a performance 289 and four-on the-floor, people take notice. So we'll hold your secret on how affordable this restored 1965 Ford Falcon Futura is.The 1965 Falcon is a difficult car to find. The Ford Mustang production was in full swing by the time this car came around. Consequently, Ford only sold 25,754 premium Futura hardtop coupes that year... or basically 1 for every 16 Mustang coupes sold that year. It makes for a far more rare example of a lightweight and fast Ford, and the design has really come into its own lately. These second-generation Falcons seemed to strike a nice balance between American flair and European sensibilities, and the iconic Wimbledon White paint represents this perfectly. It earns the iconic English name with crisp sheetmetal in the pristine and proper color like a pinpoint Oxford shirt. It looks particularly nice thanks to a professional respray within the last few years (and only about 500 miles on the car since.) But then you also get those true American touches like the extra wide chrome bumpers, cool hardtop profile, and Futura-specific aggressive red side streak that looks like an arrow pointing this Falcon forward. And of course, no vintage American speed machine is complete without American Racing Torq Thrust wheels. There's just something about a factory-correct well-maintained red interior that we love. The seats, carpeting, door panel, and dash have all received the correct level of care and restoration. Not only does this do a great job of matching the exterior red streak, but also you can just see it radiating from the outside like a siren's song begging you to get in and go for a drive. You slip behind the factory-style wheel, and the extra long speedo flanked by secondary gauges instantly reminds you of its Mustang sibling. And just in case you didn't pick up on that clue, the floor gearshift is in instant hint to that other American icon. The whole package looks great with original elements like the AM radio and heat/defrost control blending nicely with newer items like the full auxiliary gauge set. While we've been making plenty of Mustang comparisons to this Falcon, the easiest one is under the hood. The C-code 289 cubic-inch V8 is the same motor that made Ford's pony car famous. It looks great in this Falcon with the chrome air cleaner and aluminum valve covers against a fantastically tidy presentation. But beyond just making you proud to show it off, this V8 has been enhanced with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock Performer intake. More than just show and go, this coupe has invested in good fundamentals like an aluminum radiator and newer stainless dual exhaust for plenty of worry-free miles to come. The full package makes for reliable and rapid vintage transit, and you have complete control over all of it thanks to the Borg Warner T10 four-speed manual transmission. Plus, there have been investments in items like new control arms, modern tires, and other items to make this a great vintage road machine.Unique, powerful, and fantastically presented, this Ford Falcon Futura even comes with the original warranty card and owner's manual. Now you know it's the classic that you'll love to drive and show off. And at this value price, you also know you have to be quick to bring it home. Call now!!
