1963 Ford Facon Sprint, restorable.

I listed this car earlier without the vin number. This understandably caused some problems for people who wanted to restore the car and not part out. I unbolted the drivers fender enough to get a drill with a fine wire brush to it and found the VIN.This car belonged to my wife's grandfather. I bought the car years ago from my brother in law and had hoped to restore but have been unable to do that and hate to see it deteriorate any further. I had someone who has rebuilt a Sprint look at it. He said that in his opinion the doors and quarters either need to be replaced or repaired due to rust damage and that it also needs a floor pan. I really don't know what it needs. I do know the floorboard is rusted. The radiator is missing. Some bondo repair. I do not know which parts are original to the car and which ones have been replaced except for the drivers door. The drivers door apparently came off a convertible at least that's what the numbers on the ID plate indicate. I sent the 1984 tag number to the state of Alabama requesting a vehicle registration or a VIN. They both called and sent a letter stating that it was too old to be in their system. In the state of Alabama you don't need a title for a car this old, just a bill of sale.In the"item specifics" section it says that the car has a clear title. That's becauseeBay gives you only five different titles to choose from and none of them are correct for this car. eBay will not let you leave the spot blank. So "clear title" seems the most correct choice for this car. However, this car does not have a title. In Alabama you don't have to have a title for a car this old.
After I found the VIN. I sent the number to the Falcon Registry. I will paste the reply from Jon Shuppy at the bottom of this description. It appears that the car originally wasCorinthianWhite, with Red interior. After Mr. Shuppy asked me for some more info which required a closer look, it appears that some of the seats were dyed black. I could see red near some of thestitching. Also it looks like the dash was originally red. Black paint is coming off in some spots on the dash and red paint is underneath. After looking closer at the color of the car I could see white paint on the body where the old red was coming off.
As you can see from the pics, it looks like all the chrome is there. The motor is a V8. I don't know what size and if it was running when parked. Bucket seats. Falcon emblem on glove compartment. I really don't know anything about the condition of the car other than what you can see in the pics. I do not have a key and cannot open the trunk. I didn't realize that the hood was partially openwhen I took the pictures. It does close all the way with no problem.If you are looking for a Sprint to restore or Sprint parts this looks like a good place to start.
