Car description

Sure, you could probably build a 1966 Mustang like this. First, find yourself an ultra-clean early Mustang that doesn't cost about half of what this one does, all finished. Add one supercharged 5.0 engine and 5-speed gearbox. Once you collect all the materials and parts, you'll be several tens of thousands into the build, then you'll add about four years of your time. Still think this 1966 coupe isn't a screaming bargain?Someone pulled out all the stops to put this car together, and it's ultimately the new owner who will benefit. Cost doesn't appear to have been a consideration with the bodywork on this early Mustang coupe, as it sports one of the straightest bodies we've ever seen (and you can see how many Mustangs we sell). A lot of the trim was shaved, including the emblems on the front fenders, and a custom cowl-induction hood was installed to give it a custom look. Then they shot it with two-stage dark blue paint with lots of metallic in the base and a brilliant shine in the final product, which only comes from a careful color-sand and buff session. White rocker stripes are classic Mustang styling cues that just scream high performance, and while it's not perfect, it definitely has a high-quality look that belies its affordable sticker price. If you care about getting the little stuff right, this Mustang will delight you.The interior is a tasteful resto-mod environment that gets the big stuff right and leaves the rest alone. Late-model buckets have been reupholstered in the vintage-looking Pony-style upholstery and the illusion is very convincing. The fat Grant GT steering wheel manages the crisp steering, and there's a beefy 4-point roll bar behind the sets that looks cool and adds rigidity to the tub. Auto Meter gauges were installed in a custom gauge panel that fits like the original, but the rest of the controls appear to be original. There's no console, which is a favorite high-performance look, and that stock-looking shifter now manages a 5-speed instead of the original 4-speed transmission. A newer AM/FM/cassette head unit has been nestled front and center in the dash and the trunk is finished with a reproduction mat as well as a custom stainless steel box for the rear-mounted battery. Under the skin is where this Mustang really stands apart. The engine is a late-model 5.0 liter V8, also known as a 302. It's topped with a deep-breathing B&M supercharger that crams between 6 and 10 pounds of boost into the stout small block, depending on the pulley you're using. Inside, you'll find a set of forged TRW pistons, Ford Motorsports B-303 roller cam and matching lifters, Trick Flow aluminum heads, and a big 750 carburetor up top. Throttle response is instantaneous and the blower is making full boost before you can even get your foot on the floor, so take it easy! The engine bay is clean and very nicely detailed, with a purposeful look that's reminiscent of a race piece, especially with that big aluminum radiator up front and braided stainless hoses for the fuel system. A T5 gets power from a Centerforce clutch and churns it through a custom driveshaft to an 8-inch rear full of 3.80 gears, so it's punchy around town but a comfortable cruiser on the highway. A 2.5-inch Flowmaster exhaust system gives it that familiar 5.0 sound and the suspension has been suitably upgraded to handle the power. Pretty Torque Thrust wheels look great and carry 225/45/15 front and 255/50/15 rear BFGoodrich rubber.Still think you can build more car for less money? Why wait? Call now and own this one today!
