1956 Ford F100 Big Window Custom Build
VIN: F10V6G11916
In 1953, Ford introduced the F100 series trucks, replacing the F-1 monikers previously employed by the brand. The trucks were lightly restyled and reengineered to be more capable and better performers, and it was in this era that all light-duty truck makers began focusing more acutely on producing stouter, more competent trucks. With the popularity of the new F100 Pickups, Ford restyled the bodies for 1956 and created a one-year-only body style featuring a wraparound windshield and upright A-pillars, revised grilles and small details. It's often considered the most popular of the original F100s.
This 1956 Ford F100 Pickup retains its steel body and underwent an extensive frame-off nut & bolt restoration, which included boxing and powder coating the frame. Heavily but subtly customized, it's sprayed in a high-gloss PPG Black and features the optional big back window. The tailgate latch is recessed for a clean look, and custom LED taillights have been relocated in the custom roll pan furthering the smoothness and providing a higher level of visibility. An oak bed has been installed and is protected by a custom tonneau cover. A Chevrolet High Performance SP350 crate engine is sparked by an Accel Ignition and fed with an Edelbrock Performer aluminum manifold and 750 CFM carburetor under the tilt hood. A custom-built Turbo 350 automatic transmission and Ford 9-inch rear end put the power to the road through 18-inch billet Foose wheels, while 4-wheel power disc brakes, power steering and a Volare independent front suspension help make this Pickup more enjoyable to drive, especially with the tone of the Magnaflow 2.5" exhaust system belting out a fabulous sound. Inside, passengers revel with Vintage Air, power windows and locks, leather upholstery, Moon gauges, Lokar shifter, a custom Sony stereo system and other extras that create a remarkable environment!
