1940 DELUXE FORD COUPE
ID #185819888
This a Wonderful frame off restoration that was completed about 16 years ago.
It starts up immediately even when it has been sitting awhile and absolutely drives like a dream...
This is not your average 1940 Ford!!
Frame off restoration work includes, new correct 1940 Ford Burgundy paint, new correct interior including seats, door, headliner, door panels, floor mats, original deluxe dashboard and steering wheel. The speedometer was also rebuilt when I purchased the car and it only had 25 miles on the car. The odometer reading now is actual mileage since restoration,(862 miles 5/11/16). Included are original radio and clock, new trunk liner was also installed and trunk was refurbished, a spare tire is also included and it is a wide white wall.
New chrome and exterior accessories include: Right and left Ford side view mirrors, Ford fog lights, Ford grill guard, and decorative Ford bumper tips, front and back. Wheels have chrome “beauty rims” with correct hubcaps, and wide white wall tires.
Since I have owned the car I have converted the electrical system to 12 volts and added: “Hot Tronics” directional signals with warning “flashers”, an electrical “kill” switch, electronic ignition, and electric fuel pump. I have also installed burgundy Ford lap belts. The car also has correct and legal 1940 California license plates and a custom car cover.
Imperfections at this date are: Radio and clock, although complete, are non-operational after conversion to 12 volt system; there is no key for the passenger door lock; the engine temperature gauge indicates the engine running temperature is low, which it is, as repeated heat gun engine temp readings indicate this flathead engine runs cooler than most. operating at about 140F in normal operating conditions. Front license plate holder does not fit well with fog lights.
