FOR SALE1964-1/2 FORD MUSTANG COUPE 289 4, UT, IR CONDITIONIN, 02,XXX ORIGINAL MILESI BOUGHT THIS CAR A LITTLE LESS THAN A YEAR AGO TO BUILD A RETRO-MOD BUT AFTER FINDING OUT THE SIGNIFICANCE AND RARITY OF THESE FIRST RUN MODELS I HAVE DECIDED TO LEAVE IT ORIGINAL AND FIND A REGULAR 1965/66 MUSTANG TO BUIL, HIS IS A SOLID CALIFORNIA CAR AND IT SHOW, HIS CAR HAS THE HIGHER PERFORMANCE 4 BARREL 289 OPTION AND FACTORY AC WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRAN, HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR AROUND 5000 MILES AND IT DRIVES WELL FOR A 50 YEAR OLD VECHICEL. LAST YEAR THE PREVIOUS OWNER COMPLETELY WENT THROUGH THE BRAKES AND THEY WORK WEL, HE CAR DRIVES STRAIGHT AND STEERS GOOD BUT I THINK THE FRONT END IS A LITTLE ON THE LOOSE SIDE AND MAY NEED FRESHENED UP HOWEVER IT STILL DRIVES PRETTY WELL AND I HAVE TAKEN IT ON A 200 MILE TRIP WITH NO WORRIE, HE TRANS SHIFTS GOOD AND FEELS STRON, HIS CAR HAS DUAL EXHAUST WITH GLASS PACK MUFFLERS AND HAS A NICE RUMBLE TO I, HE FACTORY 289 STARTS EASY AND RUNS WELL NO KNOCK, TICK, R SMOKE BUT IT IS A LITTLE COLD BLOODED AND I THINK IT COULD USE A CHOKE ADJUSTMENT AND PROBABLY A TUNE UP AS WELL. THIS ENGINE IS STRONG BUT AT 102,000 MILES IM SURE ITS A LITTLE WORN. THIS ENGINE IS STOCK EXCEPT THE ORIGINAL CAST IRON INTAKE AND AUTOLITE CARB HAVE BEEN UPGRADED TO EDELBROCK UNIT, FTER DRIVING IT 3000 MILES I CHANGED THE OIL AND IT WAS ABOUT 1/2 QUART LOW BUT THAT IS NOT TOO BAD FOR AN OLDER MOTOR LIKE THI, HE INTERIOR IS PRETTY NICE OVERALL BUT HAS SOME MINOR IMPERFECTIONS AND WEAR. I WOULD RATE IT AS NICE DRIVER CONDITIO, HIS CAR HAS MANY FEATURES THAT ARE UNIQUE TO THE 1964-1/2 MODELS ONLY LIKE A GENERATO, ND THE DASH LIGHT READS GEN INSTEAD OF AL, HE HOOD EDGES ARE NOT FOLDE, HE HEADLIGHT BUCKETS ARE BEVELE, HE CORE SUPPORT HAS BATTERY COOLING LOUVER, HE FENDER EMBLEMS AS WELL AS THE SHIFTER HANDLE ARE SMALLER UNITS THAN A 196, HE HORNS ARE MOUNTED DOWN LO, M SURE THERES MORE BUT YOU GET THE PICTUR, LL GLASS IS GOO, LL LIGHTS WOR, HIS CAR IS VERY SOLID AND HAS VERY FEW RUST ISSUES. THE ROCKER, HEEL OPENING, RAME RAIL, HOCK TOWERS ARE ALL SUPER NICE BUT AT SOME POINT IN TIME THE EXTERIOR HAS BEEN REPAINTED AND SOME OF THE BODY WORK IS COMING THROUGH IN A FEW AREAS. THE PASS DOOR HAS SOME MINOR RUST COMING THROUGHON THE LOWER FRONT OUTSIDE CORNE, HE LOWER REAR DRIVER SIDE QUARTER HAS A LITTLE RUST SPOT, HE PASS SIDE MID UPPER QUARTER HAS A SPOT WHERE A DENT WASPUTTIED OVER AND IS CRACKING(why this smalldent was not pushed out from inside the trunk I will never understand) THE ORIGINAL VINYL TOP WAS REMOVED AND WHERE THE TRIM RIVET HOLES WERE FILLED IN WITH PUTTYIS COMING THROUGH AND THE ORIGINAL FLOOR PANS ARE FINALLY STARTING TO GETA LITTLERUST BUT NOT TOO BAD MAINLY JUST THE DRIVER FRONT TOE KICK ARE, S I STATED THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES BUT THERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT NEED REPAIRED: THE GAS GAUGE DONT WOR, HE REAR PASS SIDE WINDOW POPS OUT OF THE TRACK SOMETIMES SO THE LAST TIME I PUT IT BACK ON I LEFT IT UP AND HAVE NOT USED IT ANYWAY I WILL INCLUDE A SET OF NEW WINDOW BUSHINGS FOR ALL 4 WINDOW, HE PASS SIDE EXHAUST DONUT GASKET LEAKS A LITTLE BUTI WILL ALSO INCLUDE A NEW ON, NE U-JOINT IS GETTING A LITTLE PLAY BUTI WILL INCLUDE A NEW ON, HE PREVOUS OWNER HAD THE AC GONE THROUGH LAST YEAR AND HAD IT CONVERETED TO R134A (and had the whole car dynamatted as well) HE TOLD ME IT WORKED GREAT BUT WHEN I USED IT THIS SUMMER IT DID NOT BLOW VERY COLD SO ITS GOING TO NEED SOME ATTENTIO, HE REAR DIFF HAS A MILD DRIP AND I HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO CHECK IT OU, OME OF THE WEATHER STRIPPING IS GETTING HARD AND SHOWING AG, NYWAY I THINK THAT IS ALL THE QUIRKS WITH THIS CAR BUT I COULD OF OVERLOOKED SOMETHIN, HIS CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS WITH NO WARRENT, T IS OLD AND USE, HAVE TRIED TO DESCRIBE IT AS BEST AS I CAN BUT PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME AND USE THE ZOOM FEATURE ON EVERY PICTURE AND PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS EITHER THROUGH EBAY OR YOU CAN GIVE ME A CALL (636)866-745ZER, HANKS FOR LOOKIN, LEAR TITLE IN MY NAM, ELOW IS THE DATA TAG INFO FOR THIS CAR.Warranty Number: 5F07D127875Year: 5 1965 (1964 1/2) Plant: F Dearborn, I Body Series: 07 2 Door Hardtop Engine: D 289 4v V8 Unit: 127875 127875 Miscellaneous Vehicle DataBody: 65A 2 Door Hardtop, tandard Interior Color: M Wimbledon White Trim: 85 Red Crinkle Vinyl, tandard Interior Date: 06E May 06, 964 D.S.O: 71 Los Angeles Axle: 1 3.00:1, onventional Trans: 6 C4 Automatic More Info coming soon...
