Original paint except the drivers front fender appears to have been repainted in the 70s and re-striped as the paint and stripe are slightly less faded than the rest of the car. The car has 77,000 miles and runs, rives, nd stops well. The paint is very presentable but it does have some areas that are down to the primer from years of washing, uffing, nd car covers.I'm still in the process of sorting out this car but this is what I know so far. The car was one owner up until March of 2014. The original owner parked the car in 1987 as evidence by the last Virginia state safety inspection. The car sat in a garage most of the past 25 years and it shows. I bought the car from the second owner. He went over the brake and fuel system and drove the car about 1500 miles in the past 2 years. For the most part the car is unmolested. The engine is numbers matching and appears to have never been out of the car. The engine lift hooks are present, he exhaust heat shield, nd the heat shields are present on the original motor mounts. The car has the original radiator, riginal alternator, nd water pump. The transmission shifts well and is date coded to match the cars build, he rear has the original tag in place. There is no sign that the drive train was ever removed from the vehicle.Replacement parts that I have observed or replaced myself. I put a set of 14x7 reproduction magnum 500 wheels on the car, battery, n exhaust system and a startersolenoid. The previous owner installed a new fuel pump, olley carb., heel cylinders on the rear, rake linings allaround. The car has replacement shocks. Otherwise appears to be original equipment. The grill has two small cross bars broken out. There is a NOS grill that goes with the car.The body has all its original panels. The door jams are rust free with the original factory installed data tag and tire inflation guide. The passenger rear quarter panel has a small amount of rust just behind the wheel and is just starting to rust a little around the wheel opening. The passenger door, ocker, am, nd fender are rust free. The hood and trunk lid are rust free. The drivers side rear quarter is rust free. The drivers door is just starting to rust at each corner, mall areas, ot yet holes. The drivers front fender and rocker are rust free. The only rust repair done on the vehicle was done in the trunk. On the passenger side there was a 4 inch by 6 inch piece of metal welded in and there is a couple small holes that were fiberglassed. The trunk floor was painted with an epoxy black paint. The original trunk mat is in place as is the original jack. The wiring in the trunk is near perfect, t was never cut or chewed by mice. The original dual rear speakers are intact and sound great. As great as an AM radio can sound anyway. All the trim is intact and in good shape. All the glass is original carlite and is in excellent shape. The doors open and shut like new. The windows roll up and down like new. The interior is all original and is presentable. The original carpet is intact but its a little rough. The headliner has a seam coming apart and has some finger prints. The back seat is in great shape, ll the seat belts are intact and functional, he front seats are good the drivers seat cover is worn especially at the seams. The dome light and the light in the center console work. The car has a factory tach and gauges which all work except the clock. The lights all work, he radio, he heater, he wipers, he AM radio. The dash is near mint.Underneath the car is in great shape also. The quarter bottoms and trunk drop offs are solid, here is some pin hole rust on the passenger side but the panel is solid. The car has air shocks on the back. It also has a factory rear sway bar. All the fuel lines and brake lines are in good shape. There is no rust in the floors except what I mentioned in the trunk also the drain plug under the driver side rear passenger is slightly soft. The battery tray area is rust free although the original battery tray has rusted some. The odometer reads 77,000 miles. The engine fires right up and idles smooth. There is some smoke on start up. The car runs good, rives good, nd stops good. I'm selling this car as a survivor. They made 51,000 Torino fastbacks in 1973. Only a handful of N code 429 cars. I doubt there are very many left with original paint and drive line. This car has lots of patina, ut from 20 feet it presents as a show car. I think its worth preserving as it sits. But it would also make an excellent restoration candidate. That's up to the next owner. I have the Marti report and I found the build sheet under the rear seat. I will be happy to provide a walk around video of the body and interior and video of the car driving for anyone that is seriously interested in the car. This car is only for sale on ebay at this time. Pleas call, ext or email with questions or comment on this very interesting, are car. LeRoy 717-254-5075
