Hello and thank you for your interest in our 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable-Hardtop. Where to begin? This car is in fully functioning and driving condition, eliable enough to take on any road trip. It has been nicely cared for and remarkably well preserved. It is very rare to see this caliber of vehicle in unmolested, reserved condition. Typically they are either over-restored or basket cases. Here we have a rarely seen example that has been looked after and repaired along as needed. It isn't a perfect concourse winner... It is a proper 57 year old vehicle with corresponding patina and a great cruiser. No signs of rust on the body and the frame is rock solid. Only 97,800 Miles believed to be actual. This particular example was built November 8th, 958 as the brand new model for 1959. Built in the San Jose, alifornia assembly plant. Featuring a 225 Horsepower 332 cu. in. V8 motor and 3 speed Cruis-O-Matic (automatic) Gearbox. Finished in Ford President Red and Colonial White. "Mostly" original paint with patina and several touch-ups, till very presentable. The Hardtop was repainted however. The original pattern interior and trim are in impeccable condition, eels like a new car. I believe it to be original to the vehicle. Even the original AM radio still works (somewhat). No rips or tears anywhere (see the pictures for details). Words cannot express the amount of attention and detail involved. Excellent trim in and out. On the interior nearly all the chrome and stainless steel are excellent. Same on the exterior with the exception of the rear bumper, t does show its age and the reverse light bezels are good but show some pitting. One small dent on the left side headlight trim and fender.Fully operational retractable hardtop functions nicely at the touch of a switch. All 5 electric motors working well and in sequence. This is the heart of this vehicle. A very unique feature made only 3 years on the Ford Fairlane. Such an option wouldn't become available again until 1997 with the Mercedes SLK. The original Ford 332 cubic inch Y-Block V8 motor runs like a clock and adequate power to wift the vehicle for highway cruising. This certainly is the sort of vehicle you'd want to cross Route 66 with! Coupled with the Cruise-O-Matic transmission making for effortless driving. The vehicle also features power steering and power assisted brakes. Proper white-wall tires with original type matching hubcaps. This indeed is a magnificent car to own, ade only 3 years from 1957 to 1959. With only just over 12,000 units made in 1959. Only a handful over 2000 left in the world including all 3 years. Owning a 1950's American classic is truly something special, wning a convertible is the epitome. This car has been somewhat of a personal time machine that takes you back to a bygone era of drive-in movies, ock and roll, nd malt shakes. Everywhere we take it people smile and come to see and talk to us about it. It really does brighten your day...If you have any questions regarding the vehicle don't hesitate to ask, e are available day and night.
