Every once in a great while we come across an uncut bronco that is beyond belief for "straight". BUT FIRST OF ALL THIS IS NOT YOUR GRANDPA'S BRONCO. ONCE YOU LIFT THE HOOD OR DRIVE THIS BAD BOY YOU WILL KNOW WHAT WE MEAN!! WE CALL IT THE "SLEEPER" FOR A REASON.
Please go to our you tube movie entitled: em2 bronco 1971 uncut sleeper
We have done roughly 150 early broncos and I have to say this was pure joy to acquire. Let's start with the updates and modifications: a computer and tuner come with the sale for the:
Engine: Over 400 ponies wrapped up in this unbelievable fast 5.0 liter HO with 22 # injectors, 5 mm mass air, AM # M-6250-E303(firing 13726548) 498 lift with .311 cam lift with rollers
SVO GT40 aluminum heads 64cc with 166cc intake volume, .94 SS intake valve and 1.54 exhaust SS, nd chrome moly intake seats. ARP fasteners used throughout. These breathe excellent and turn this injected motor into excruciating horsepower for a bronco.
Power steering with bullet proof lifetime warranted linkage, nbsp;rebuilt 3:1 box, 35 amp alternator, arge core alum. Radiator, erpentine setup of course, EC conversion- E9ZZ12A650 AA mass air wiring harness, " headers with O2 sensors with new cat converters at 33,008miles incorporate, " aluminized exhaust with stainless tips, nd a full high output electric cooling fan to satisfy those 117 degree Arizona days with the air conditioning on. It does have ice cold air with all parts rebuilt. It came from Arizona where they absolutely need it.
T-5 transmission with 5 forward speeds and a .72 :1 overdrive . The transmission is rebuilt as well around 10,000 miles. The gears are new front and rear. We installed a 3:50 trac loc rear diff and the front is a factory 3:54 with a 77 bronco front end. The brakes are 4 wheel power disc brakes( the front being 77 large caliper Ford). The pads are over 90% and the rotors look like new. The rear diff has new axle bearings, eals, nd friction modified fluid. We have to look through $30,000. Worth of receipts to find out the clutch is a McCleod diaphragm with new disc at 33,000 miles and we are currently at 38366. Most of the work has been done in the last 10k miles and it shows in the way the bronco runs.
There is a 2 ½" suspension lift and a 1" body lift to accommodate the 5 speed conversion. Driveline angles are optimum and the suspension handles very well. Every update that had any issues was addressed by a professional shop and corrected prior to 38,000 miles. The shocks are brand new TBP nitrox extended travel with black boots and the tires and wheels are new as well. The tires are 5 NEW 31-10.50R15 Mastercraft Wildcat all terrain tread with 5 new Ultra 164 polished 15x8 wheels. We used spline lug nuts on all 4 and the spline key is in the glovebox together with the tire warranty.
The interior has new seating that incorporates adjustable 3 point lap/shoulder belts, ecline, nd about 5 times the slide adjustment of a factory seat. New carpet was installed OVER FACTORY RUBBER MATS and insulation. We used the original carpet trim and installed a new fold n tumble rear seat with aftermarket lap belts in the rear. The dash, ash pad, eadliner, nd glass is all origina, (unbelievable condition) with the dash pad having a crack dead center. The steering column is a Flaming river tilt column and the wheel is MOMO leather. The heat and air cond. Blows out the lower dash vents but using the factory switch. The tachometer is an SVO and the radio is bone stock (works) but needs a new speaker. The roll bar is a 4 point TBP. The door and quarter upholstery is custom from our upholsterer. We don't think the hardtop has ever been off the bronk! What a beautiful uncut bronco J. It has a very comfortable interior with ample leg room and access to the rear seating from either side of the bronco. The hood has an inside locking release with hood shocks. Too cool.
The body is so straight and the body lines are factory excellent. Even with the 3" exhaust and big cam you can hear yourself think in the cab at 70 mph. WE installed new TBP wipers and blades because it RAINS in Oregon whenever you want to take a trip. Lol This is a VERY VERY nice bronco that is exceptionally powerful and straight. PERFECT for the discerning Ford collectors collection or enjoyment. It will be a long while before we find a stock body this darned nice. I affectionately call it the "sleeper". Folks do a double take when it passes them on the freeway at 80+ mph and is NOT screaming. It's a bonafide joy to drive.
