If you're like me, ou glanced at the photos and said to yourself, Wow, hat a pretty truck!" This 1951 Ford F-1 has a classic look, ut it's also been very tastefully upgraded to create an awesome resto-mod that gets just about everything right, ncluding the bargain price tag.The soft yellow paint on this truck isn't quite an original Ford color, ut it's not totally wrong, ither. The 1950s were all about pastels and it works as well here as it did on, ay, Crown Victoria. The redesigned F-1 is one of the best looking trucks of all time, o they didn't try to reinvent it; rather it was simply smoothed and refined. The bumpers were shaved and some of the emblems were removed, ut things like the hood vents, rille, nd curvaceous rear fenders were left totally intact. Finish quality is extremely good, ith great bodywork and a brilliant shine to the light yellow paint. The body and bed are steel, hile the fenders are fiberglass, ut it all works together to create an iconic truck that will stand out everywhere it goes. The few chrome bits still on the truck are in excellent condition and we love the way the grille was trimmed to match the body. Of course there's wood in the bed, nd it has a nice weathered look that contrasts nicely with the paint, n intentional trick that gives the truck a lot of character. The interior is simply gorgeous, ith late-model bucket seats reupholstered in beautiful burgundy leather. The bright yellow paint wraps onto the dashboard and steering column, hile the door panels were created to tie it all together. There's a custom enclosure along the bottom of the dash to house the A/C vents and AM/FM/CD stereo head unit, nd it meets in the middle with a custom center console. Other upgrades include a tilt steering column, ew Dolphin white-faced gauges, nd power windows, lus a custom billet steering wheel with more of that beautiful leather wrapped around its rim. Attention to detail is impressive and if not for the bed out back, t would be easy to forget you're in a 65-year-old pickup truck.Reliable power comes in the form of a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 that's been dressed up with lots of chrome. But it's no slouch in the performance department, porting a performance intake manifold, -barrel carburetor, pgraded camshaft, nd a big radiator up front. The A/C components are modern Vintage Air and it sits on a modified Camaro subframe that also donated disc brakes and power steering. The suspension has been lowered so it has a definite hot rod look, ut there are leaf springs out back, o that bed isn't exclusively for show if you have some light hauling to do. A custom Flowmaster exhaust system uses side exits for a great look and an awesome sound and a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission powers a 10-bolt rear, o the powertrain is rock solid. Gorgeous Budnik aluminum wheels give it a bit of a high tech look and carry 235/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rear performance radials.A truck that looks great and drives even better, his pretty Ford attracts a lot of attention but the guy who will enjoy it most is the one sitting behind the wheel.
