Here's a 1978 Ford Van. It is a Chateau Club Wagon with a 460 V8 and the Trailer Special towing package, omplete with a heavy duty hitch, railer brakes and hookup for lights. It drives OK but idles rough. My mechanic says that one of the cylinders has low compression. Since I've owned the van, 've had my mechanic fix an exhaust manifold leak. Other than that, haven't done anything else. The interior isn't too bad considering the age - there are a few rips in the seats. There is a fair amount of surface rust on the body but no areas that are rusted through and no frame rot. Everything works except for the A/C. The van has dual fuel tanks that work great. Worth noting - one of the rear windows is cracked. The guy who sold me the van pointed out that in 1992 at 88,000 miles, he van was completely rebuilt and overhauled including - rebuilt engine, rebuilt trans, epack wheel bearings, alance wheels, ew plugs, ew wires, ew rear springs, ew hoses, ew belts, tc. (see photo). There is a chart in the driver's side door jam that lists all of the work that was done at this point. The odometer was also zeroed at this point. (Reads 69K now, eaning overall mileage on the van is 157K).This van would be a great candidate for a restoration orcustomize it for 70s vanning. I bought it to haul music gear but got a cargo trailer instead to pull with my daily driver. The van is sold AS IS due to the age.***Before bidding, lease note that this van needs to be picked up no later than 2 weeks after the auction ends!! Any longer, nd you will need to pay for another month of rental storage. By bidding, ou agree to this condition. The van drives pretty well on the highway, nd I wouldn't hesitate to drive it out of state. The buyer will be responsible for handling all shipping/pickup. The van is located in the 50265 zip code***
