Car description |
---|
In 1967 Ford built 952,553 full size cars (US production). 5,329 were XL Convertibles. Of those 411 came with 428-4v Engines. 327 of those had C-6 Automatic Transmissions. 7 of them were Silver Frost, f which 4 had Black Vinyl Bucket Seats. 1 of them had and AM/FM radio installed. 7U59Q109270 is this Ford.
This car sold new at BillWoods Ford Inc.in North Kansas City, o. This car was optioned with Black Accent stripe, Black Convertible Top, ourtesyLight Group,8.15x15-4 Ply White Sidewall Nylon tires, ir Conditioning, ower Drum Brakes, ower Steering. Tinted Glass, nd Styled Steel Wheel Covers. It must have been a striking automobile in its day!
The rarity of the car is verified with an Elite Marti Report.Since being sold in March of 1967 this XL was with out a doubt enjoyed.Previous owners must havehad different taste in colors. There is evidence ofit being painted Yellow once andRedanother time. The odometer shows 20,000 miles,I would say it is at least 120,000 if not 220,000 miles. Somewhere along theway the original 428must havekicked the bucket. It now has a freshoverhauled 352 sitting in theframe (see pictures of machine shop receipt) it has never been fired. AC6 automatictransmission still resideswith the car.Theoriginal 9-3/831spline rear endwas alsooverhauled. Thebodyistypical for a car of this age. It has had the floor pan patched in a few different places. There is evidence of work being done to the 1/4 panels behind the rear wheels other dents dings and so on.The frame has no rust (this is a common problem on this era of Ford). We purchased this car as arestoration project for our shopthatis known for turning out some of thenicestfull size Fords on theplanet.Unfortunately we have several otherprojects going and thisonehasnevermade it into the production line. There is lots of potential for someone to take it to the next level. This car comes with a lot of parts as shown in the pictures. What is pictured is included, o more and no less. A few known missing parts include the distributor, carburetor, engine fan and shroud, wheel covers, one exhaust manifold and bothinside seatmoldings . There are some new partsthat include shocks, brake lines, gastank and sending unit, rake drums, rake cables, coil springs, ear wheel cylinders, ear brake shoes, ront inner fenders. We do not know if the convertible top frame works as we have never tested it. The moldings are all there but need to be restored. The wheels and tires on it are just rollers The front sheet metal is just loosely bolted on. Although the auction listing title states Galaxie and 7-litre. This car is not technically a Galaxie and it does not have the 7-litre sports package. Car has a clear Nebraska title in our name. Car is being sold as is and is the responsibility of the buyer to arrange shipping. Please call Eric at 402-289-9310 for more information.
