I will be at the NSRA SE Nationals at the Fair Groundsin Tampa on 10/10/15 with title in hand.Offered at Auction is my 1938 Ford De Luxe Convertible Club Coupe. This is the most reliable Resto Rod I've ever owned. I've always been attracted to the stock Ford Styling with an up dated Frame, uspension, amp; Running Gear. I didn't realize how rare this Body style was until I ordered a top boot from LeBaron Bonney, hey sent me a top bootfrom a rumble seat Convertible. This car has the back seat under the Convertible Top. I returned the boot along with a pic of an original Ford advertisement. They called me stating that they never had this year & model in theirShop to make a boot or patterns. I have seen '40 Ford Converts & believe the body to be the same configuration. To start with thisOriginal Henry Ford steel body had been in storage 32 years before the build began. All new floor panels, ockers, unning boards were added with a 5" recessed firewall. Technology Insulation products were used. The steelbody with fiberglass rear fenderswas mounted on a custom Heinzman frame with Heidt's Mustang II independent front suspension with rack & pinion power steering & 11"front disc brakes & drum rear.Parallel leaf rear springs with front & rear anti roll bars stabilize the ride. There is a rebuilt 8" rear with 3:50 gears. It has a frame mounted trans cooler to keep the AODtrans cool while shifting with a Lokar floor mounted shifter for the period correct look. A remanufactured 302 Ford engine with GT-40 aluminum heads & roller rockers compliment the mild hi lift cam. A HEI gives spark to ignite the fuel pumped through the Holley Street Avenger carb. The exhaust flows through ceramic coated S & S headers. The plumbing including fuel & flex brake hoses are all correctly bent & fastened. A WalkerZ radiator in conjunction with a 16" electric fan with shroud & Centech fan controller keeps it cool in the hottest weather. A Ron Francis wiring package with all components & drop down fuse panel controls the electric for safety & comfort features. A Vintage A/C Super Gen II was installed to keep you comfortable when the outside temps go to extremes even in Florida Summers. The A/C & heatcontrols with a power outlet are located in the glove box. An original style clock is mounted in the glove box door, ut is not accurate. The A/C vents are neatly installed in the dash for a factory look. There is a March serpentine belt system to keep it neat. Engine functions & speedare monitored through Haneline Quade gauges for that retro look. There is a Flaming River tilt column & column drop with light switch & ignition switch that is topped with a Flaming River Banjo Wheel. Nu Relics power windows were added& an I pod compatible Stereo Radio with CD player under the front seat with remote control. Turning on the radio activates the power antenna. The stock manual cowl vent was retained. It all rolls smoothly down the road with Wheel Smith wheels 15 X 6 front, 5 X 7rearwrapped in BF Goodrich Radial TA tires 195 60R 15 front & 235 60R 15 rear. I get compliments on this carevery time I take her for a ride. This is a very well thought out build by an experienced Rod builder. Steel bodied cars of this era are getting more difficult to find & when found are in the $50K to $60K price range. This car is For Sale by a realistic motivated Seller. The undercarriage is painted the same color as the Body, ut a new hire at the Shop thought he was doing a favor by touching up the undercarriagewithout masking the hoses. These pics will give you a good sense of the build. The trunk is upholstered as well,a newOdyssey battery with a 3 year full replacement warrantyis housed there.Any questions, eel free to callSteve @ 941-769-3475 after 10am & before 10pm EST. There is no warranty expressed or implied. Thanks for looking. See you at the Host Hotel 10/9or the Fair Grounds10/10. FLY IN DRIVE HOME
