For sale - 1928 Ford Model A Pickup Truck - built by Man Made Legends - Mooresville, C - Attention Race of Gentlemen participantsWhat do you do when you have been building V8 flathead powered hotrods for a while? Go further back to the roots of hotrods - you take a clean 1928 Ford Model A pickup (the best we've seen ever) and you add the following:Jern OHV converted Model A engine. Adds about 20 hp to a 40 hp base banger. Well that wasn't enough so the engine was built 0.080" over and has a bit hotter cam. Add a stromberg 97 and custom exhaust through a cherry bomb muffler tie it all to the original transmission and banjo rear end and you can wake up in a hurry. Need to share a little more about that special engine. It was bought from a friend in the Charlotte Model A club who's father rebuilt bangers and flatheads for over 50 years. After his passing the engine was given to son and since he's purist it never was used. We were able to buy it and install it in our truck on float-a-motor mounts. We didn't stop there - the car also got a new brass/copper radiator, 2V wiring system with turn signals, uel pump and alternator. Also the brakes were converted to hydraulics but using '35 backing plates, 35 wire wheels and new radial blackwall tires. An added touch is the antique tool box mounted in the bed. The truck is fully sorted and ready to go. This truck/engine combo is not a new car and requires some maintenance. Valves/guides must be oiled regularly (or fab up a full flow oiler) but honestly it adds to the nostalgia and fun. This is our shop truck and has our logo on it. No problem if that isn't for you a little lacquer thinner and it can be removed. This truck draws all kinds of attention where ever it goes and if you want to see a small video of me blasting around Charlotte Motor Speedway as Autofair wrapped up check out our facebook page. The car is for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the auction early. Also is it sold as is where is but we will help with any shipping needs domestic or international.
