Car description

1970 Ford Torino Cobra No Reserve!!! Let me start off by saying if you want to be inconspicuous, r if you attend rallies to support the green/environmental movement on the weekends, hen this is not your car!!! However, f you are in the market for a classic Ford muscle car that is very streetable, akes all the right noises, nd is in very good condition, hen please read on...I am helping my father sell this car, e is the actual owner. He bought it on Ebay in May of this year on somewhat of a whim since he loved this Torino aerodynamic snoopy roofline body style. He had the car shipped to Florida from Washington. For no fault of the car, e quickly decided this was not his cup of tea, nd asked me to help him sell it. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions and I will do my best to answer them. He got me involved since he's not really knowledgeable about these kinds of things, pecifically technology and how to sell a car. I have sold many things and Ebay, ncluding several cars, o please check my feedback. I will be as honest and accurate as possible with this listing, s I want to represent the car as best I can. My father is the 3rd owner of this car (basically he drove it twice for less than 30 miles). From what I understand, he second owner bought it in 1971 and only sold it to my dad last May. The 2nd owner made some tasteful modifications (described below) along the way, nd took very good care of the car. We have the title in hand, nd it is clear and ready to be signed over to the new owner. From the previous owner's listing, he car is an original 1970 Torino Cobra, n actual original "N" code car that was a base 429. Odometer reads 63,523 miles, nd are believed to be original miles. Previous owner had work done to bore it to 500 cubic inches, nd said it was based on a 429 dove block cast for a 4 bolt main, ut this car is actually a 2 bolt. It has some "hot rod" aftermarket parts added to include a Mallory distributor and coil, Holley 950 CFM carb, allory electric fuel pump, arland Sharp roller rockers, olid lifter cam, ear disk brake conversion, ual 3" Flowmaster exhaust, remec 5 speed manual (in place of original 4 speed), :11 rear end, nd 18" Boss Motorsports chrome wheels with ZR rated Falken tires (245/45 in front and 275/40 in the rear). I'd say they have about 60 percent life left. I do not know when this upgrades were made to the car, ut I believe they don't have many miles on them since done. I recently took the car (trailered it from Tallahassee to Macon) to a trusted local shop who looked it over. They checked the compression and said it was within specs on all 8 cylinders. They also checked the timing and valves, nd did an oil change (approx. 75 miles ago). I wish I knew but unfortunately I don't know the HP and torque that the car makes. I can tell you that it sounds fantastic and gets lots of attention. The car drives very nicely, nd with the Tremec 5 speed transmission and disk brakes it's actually a pleasure to cruise around in. I wouldn't plan on winning any autocross events though as obviously it's a very big and heavy car which you really feel when driving. Interior is all original except floor carpet has been replaced once. Does have an aftermarket tach attached to the steering column. Body is very nice no noticeable dings, ents, tc. Previous owner says the master cylinder and brake booster are new. I believe all body parts to be original, ncluding the hood (although scoop was modified to fit the air cleaner which sits fairly high over the carb. Trunk compartment has original lining and spare tire. Chrome and glass in good condition. I am very detailed oriented (perhaps anal), nd find the following flaws to mention. The car was repainted once in the original color in 1985 per the previous owner. Looks great but there are several places where touch up paint in needed due to chips (small areas, aybe 4-5, mall and nothing major). The interior overhead light frame is cracked. The turn signal stalk works fine on right turns, ut doesn't engage on left turns so you have to hold it up for the blinker to work. The car takes a couple turns of the key to start but after that it fires up fine and idles nicely. Some very light smoke at the tailpipes at start up but goes away quickly (I think fairly normal). The driver's side window crank is slightly loose. No rust to be found anywhere around or under the car, xcept in one place as shown on the driver's side rear quarter panel up top (see bubbling in paint). The steering wheel is maybe 5 degrees off center when front wheel are pointed straight. Overall the car is definitely not perfect but is very clean and in great shape. You could put a little money into it and make it a show car, r leave it and enjoy it as a Sunday cruiser or Saturday night car show toy (what I would do it I kept it).Again please let me know if you have any questions. Local inspections and test drives available for serious bidders. I can also send a short video of the car starting and idling upon request. Please have your funds ready before bidding! Also, hould go without mentioning but the time for questions/inspections is prior to bidding, nd not after the auction is over. Bidders with no or little feedback risk having their bid cancelled without contacting me first. Car is available for local pick up only. However, f you want to have it shipped funds have to be cleared through my dad's account before the car will be released. There is no warranty on the car as it is being sold as is. $500 deposit due within 48 hours of auction end and balance due within 7 days. Thanks very much for looking and good luck bidding!
