1973 Ford Maverick with 35,200 original, ne owner miles. 92 year old man donated this car to a charity and it ended up with me because I love Falcons and Mavericks for their utility and utter simplicity! Tony Orlando and Dawn were singing the year's number one hit "Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree." Your grandma's kitchen had appliances with the same paint color as this car and it now looks surprisingly current with it's strange green tint and striped accented upholstery that is in absolutely PERFECT shape! This was kept in Grandpa's garage ALWAYS and lovingly maintained since it was new.If I had the room I would keep this car or give it to a relative just so I could drive it occasionally. Here are it's particulars:200 straight six ford with 3 speed automatic transmission.Manual brakesPower steering (which REALLY helps on this car!)Philco AM radio works perfectly and it's SOLID STATE so it's instant onHeat/defrost/vents/fan as newCondition as follows:Paint is original-bubble and rust free! It has a couple light scratches and normal wear but nothing that couldn't be made 100% with a little touch up paint.Trim/rubber/windlace/all LIKE new. No dry cracking or wear anywhere except a tiny crack in the front bumper trim rubber (photo)Undercarriage still has most of the original coating. It was clearly never driven in Wisconsin winters! Very slight surface rust on leaf springs and otherareas that could easily be removed with a light wire brushing.Work just completed to bring up to date after long storage (with records)Complete carb rebuild/gaskets/seats etc.wires/points/rotor/cap/plugs/timingflush out of gas tankbrakes all checked outtransmission/coolant/brake fluid all freshalignmentnew vacuum lines/kick down cablemanifold gasket/egr valve assemblyvalve cover gasket changednew beltsInterior is stunning. Headliner/doors/seat upholstery excellent. Original one piece accessory floormats intact and in great condition/front and rear.Tires are dated but inexcellent non-cracked condition. The only flaws in this car are very minor pitting on rear bumper assembly and locking gas cap. Notnoticeable to most. Original ownerreplaced BOTH rear quarters in 2000 and it's onlynoticeable from inside the trunk where he used some foam to further waterproof theseams inside. Cannot tell be the paint color that he even did it. He used NOS panels. He cut his own piece of period accurate shagcarpet to line the trunk floor. Spare and jack look to be original. The only thing I did NOT do (because I forgot when I cleaned tank!) was to change the fuel sending device which isintermittent. I willinclude a brand new one with the purchase. There is a slight "tick" on cold start which I believe is the gasket between header pipe andmanifold. It goes awayalmost immediately after choke kicks down. The engine is super smooth and quiet and on my first trip I gotaround 19 miles to the gallon at 65 mph.I have the original owner's manual and dealer packet along with Ford's original "certicard". The buyer of this car will NOTbe disappointed! It is priced appropriately and has a very reasonable reserve. Maverick's are increasing in value and startingto get noticed at shows and by auto appraisers. Utility, omfort, nd 70's style. Tony Orlando and Dawn would be right athome in this Maverick. It's a lovely car. I am going to list this car locally as well and reserve the rightto cancel if I sell before it ends.No bidders with less than a 10 rating, lease. Do not bid unless you have funds ready. I will accept a personal check and turn overthe car and title when it's cleared with bank. Must pick up within 2 weeks of auction close.IMPORTANT:I have tried to describe this vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible but please remember it is a used vehicle.
