This 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 is a complete rotisserie restoration with just over 300 miles since completion. It was built using all high quality race parts that were installed by the best guys in the area. The motor is an E85 beast with over 700 HP, nd paired up with the 6-Speed Tranzilla transmission, akes the Fairlane a drivable street machine that's ready for the track as well.
The body of the car was stripped down to bare metal and is completely rust free from front to rear. The car has killer body work and paint and is straight as an arrow down the sides. The paint has been color sanded and buffed to show car quality. The panel gap and body fitment is superb. All of the trim on the vehicle is re-plated or polished NOS stuff and fits beautifully. The hood is a Crites fiberglass reproduction and also has excellent fit, specially for a glass piece. The interior of the car is like new and has been Dynamatted from front to rear. The car sports the factory gauge cluster with a big Autometer tach and knee knocker gauges under the dash to keep track of those vitals. A 6 point cage was installed that has been tied into the subframe connectors for extra strength and safety, nd off it run dual 5 point harnesses.
The suspension of the car features a Flaming River rack and pinion, illet tie rods, ie rod sleeves and 4 Strange double adjustable coil overs. The car has been scaled and corner balanced by Griffin Custom Racecraft. In the rear sits an Alston 4-link suspension. The wheels are ET Classic V wheels that measure 15x5 in front and 15x12 out back. The rear tires are M/T ET Street tires that measure 14x31x14.5.
The motor is a balanced and blueprinted, 85, 427 FE Side Oiler built by AMT Performance in St. Louis. The motor was built using a Genesis cast iron block that was sonic checked, ot tanked, nd magged. It was then bored and honed with torque plates, quare decke, ine bored and line honed. The motor uses Edelbrock heads that were ported and machined for T&D race rockers. A Scat forged stroker crank coupled with the bore takes the motor to 498 CI. The engine has forged Ross racing pistons which are gas ported and have coated skirts. The cam is a Comp Cams solid roller unit and the billet main caps are made by Pro-Gram. The intake is a Victor which has been ported and port matched to the heads. The front accessories run on a Concept One system. The car was dynoed last year and made 700 HP @6,800 rpm and 616 ft lbs of torque @5,100 rpm. The static compression ratio is 13.96 to 1.
The fuel system uses a racing fuel cell, eromotive A1000 electric pump and Quickfuel Holley Dominator 1050 on E85.
The transmission is a Tremec T-56 Magnum Tranzilla 6-speed built by Rockland Standard gear. It uses a Mcleod dual-disc clutch and steel flywheel, ydraulic TO bearing, nd Quicktime scattershield. The rear end is a Ford 9" with a S/W brace, 5 spline Strange axles, pool, .56 gears, ark Williams steel driveshaft, 350 u joints, nd driveshaft loop.
The motor exhales through a custom built set of headers with 2 1/4" primaries, erge collectors and a monster 3 1/2" exhaust. It's a pro built by Griffin Custom Racecraft tig welded throughout.
The electrical system is new from front to rear and uses a PowerMaster alternator, obbMc starter and dual Optima batteries in the trunk.
For the Ford enthusiast looking for an over the top, igh-end car built using the best parts and highest craftsmanship available, his Fairlane is a bargain compared to the cost to built the car.
