Car description

You are looking at a VERY RAREORIGINALFactory S-code 390-4V1969Ford Torino GTSportsroof optioned with a C-6 Automatic Transmission, ower Steering, ower Disc Brakes, ucket Seatsand Center Console!! This carwhile needinga full restoration, san extremelyworthy candidate with it'sdesirable option list and Big Block Powertrain!!

This is an ORIGINAL 1969 Torino GTthat has spent it's entire life in the North Georgia area cruising the streets of Dalton, eorgia America's Carpet Capital as a very cooland stylishBig Inch Muscle Cruiser! This car was a driver for many years before beingput out to pasture on the back forty. The Torino ended up being parkedas a someday project and forgotten about while waiting forthe nextTorinoenthusiast to come along and restore this car to its former glory!!

This car was aStock order atBurnette Ford in Dalton, A and ordered in the extremely popular I-code Lime Gold Metallic witha matching Ivy GoldVinyl Bucket SeatInterior.

This GT was furtherordered with the very strong optional 390-4V 320hp IP (Improved Performance) engine,C-6 Automatic Transmission, nd a 9 inch 3.25 rear end!

I have had a number of these over the years and this is the only one I have ever seen with a HOOD SCOOP DELETE option on it. Since the Hood Scoopwas standard as part of the GT equipment group in 1969 it has to be a rare occurrence for someoneto delete this item as Ford would not offer a credit back when deleting a standard item!!

This '69 TorinoGT Sportsroof waswell equipped and per the Deluxe Marti Report originally ordered as follows:390-4V 320HP IP V-8 Engine C-6Automatic Transmission3.259 inch ConventionalRearLime Gold Metallic Exterior PaintIvy Gold VinylBucket SeatsCenter ConsoleF70-14 Wide Oval Belted White Sidewall TiresVisibility GroupPower SteeringPower Disc BrakesAM RadioDeluxe Belts/Warning LightDual Rear Seat SpeakersTinted GlassHood Scoop DeleteThe S-code 390-4V IPengineseems to be relatively intact and hasit's '69 390IP/GT components to includeit's original and unique one year onlyC9ZE Intake, 90 IP/GT heads with Correct 390 GT Exhaust Manifolds & heat shield, hrome Power by Ford Valve Covers, tc. The car had been sitting formany years (the last inspection sticker is from the early 80's) and itthe previous owner recently started to convert the car to electronic ignition to make the car a runner again; but that is where the project stalled. I have not attempted to get it running, ut it ispretty much allthere and does not look likeit would take much to get it fired. The Floor Shift C-6 Transmission is intact and appears to be all original. The bullet proof 3.25 geared 9 inchbrings up the rear andalso is original to the car.Thecar looks to have had one repaint over the original Lime Gold paint and appears to have been just your typical respray from back in the day. It had a 1/4 section done way back in the day on the driver's 1/4 and it will need to be redone as it was old school country body shop work and not the kind of restoration work that is done today. The Body on the Torino whilenot perfectis actuallyfairly solid. The Hood,Fenders, oors, runkLid and 1/4's are all pretty decent on the car. Thehood while solid has a bow in it from a sticky hood hinge and it will need to be repaired. The Frame Rails, ockers, tc. are all ROCK solid on this car. There are some small rust holes in the 1/4 panels, ut nothing too bad. The trunk drops on both sides are very good on the car as is the inner trunk area itself. The fuel tank will need to cleaned out or replaced as it has been sitting a very long time. The Front Floor panshave some rustedareas, ut they arenot horrible and completely falling out of the car. You could section them or if you choose just put a complete replacement pan in.While certainly not perfect; nora rust free car by any means; the rust repair that does need to be done is cosmetic and not structural unlike so many of the projects you find from the North East and Rust Belt States. The fact that this car remained here in North Georgia all these years with our moderate climate helped to preserve the bones on this car so it could live to fight another day. TheBucket Seat/Console Interior for the most part is all there andwhile it does show the years of wear and tear; all of the pieces are allgood serviceable/restorable pieces. The original AM radiois there although not connected. The dash is original and uncut. Car will need carpet and a headliner. The GT Wheels and Mickey Thompson Tires shown on this car ARE NOT A PART OF THIS AUCTION. These are off my '69 Cobra and I am just utilizing them to move the car around and for photographic purposes. The car will have its ORIGINAL GT Wheels reinstalled at time of delivery. Please be realistic in your expectations of this car as a 45+ year old project car needing complete restoration to include rust repair, echanical work, nd cosmetic reconditioning.Overall this is a pretty complete and original 1969 Torino GT witha Big Block Pedigree that is a solid restoration candidate. There are lots of picked over rusted out carcasses out there; but complete do-able cars such as this that are not rusted to death and missing a bunch of pieces do not come along very often. Especially one's with an option list like this one has!! If you have been looking for a Big Block Torino GT to restore then don't hesitate on this one; as is it may be sometime before another suitable restoration candidate such as this comes along again! Please look at the pictures and ask any questions BEFORE you bid!! I want you to be sure of what you are bidding on and for us both to be satisfied with the TorinoGT described condition and its sale. I expect a deposit within 24 hours of auctions end and balance of payment within 7 days of auction end. This 1969 Ford TorinoGT is a 45+ year old project car and as such is being auctioned 'as-is where-is' and 'as-described' with no warranties either expressed or implied. I have described this 1970 TorinoGT project car accurately so please read the auction text and look at the pictures carefully to make sure this is what you want before bidding. If you are not sure please do not bid. I take my auctions seriously and so should you. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!
