When you ask most Ford enthusiasts what their favorite Mustang is, he Boss is always at the top of the list. And if you can find a documented Boss that's been correctly restored and has all the right hardware, ou can get a serious investment grade classic that's almost guaranteed to produce returns. Well, f you're a Ford fan who's looking for some thrilling muscle that has all the right stuff to be shown and enjoyed, his 1969 Boss 302 is a pony you can bank on! Wrapping original sheetmetal, n original 302/4-speed drivetrain and correct Calypso Coral on Black aesthetics in a 2-year, round-up restoration, t's the perfect car to cruise AND rule shows with!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Unleashed on the sunny streets of St. Petersburg, lorida, nd enjoying a long life in the possession of one owner, his exclusive Ford is one of only 410 Calypso Coral Boss 302s produced for the 1969 model year. Not too long ago, ts solid body was the beneficiary of a 2-year, round-up restoration that sealed all-original sheetmetal in correct, -stage pigment. Once that even color was buffed to an excellent shine, full array of factory war paint tapped an aggressive demeanor that's both classic and fitting. And today, he car sits as a revered collection of well-aligned panels and ridged character lines that commence a better-than-factory appearance.

For 1967, ord rolled out a bigger, ore muscular pony car, nd the 1968 and '69 model years saw that design subtly refined. The front of the car is dominated by a sharp, tainless-trimmed grille, hich hangs large driving lamps and a patriotic pony emblem between blackened headlights, flattened bumper, mall parking lamps and an aggressive chin spoiler. Behind that grille, sculpted hood flows to fresh glass, hich rides between bright wipers, traight stainless trim, orrect Sport Slats and correct, olor-keyed mirrors. At the sides of that glass, hrome-trimmed marker lamps frame classic door handles. And at the back of the car, Satin Black valance founds segmented taillights and an ornate fuel filler between a second bumper, correct deck spoiler and small, hrome-trimmed reverse lamps.

ENGINE

But hey, ever mind all that talk about how pretty the trim is, hat really matters is under the hood! Freshly rebuilt to factory specifications, he car's original, 02 cubic inch Windsor utilizes correct Cleveland-style heads, Comp Boss 302 cam and flat-tappet solid lifters to crank out serious horsepower. At the top of the "DOZE-6015-A" branded block, painted and polished air cleaner feeds a correct Holley 4-barrel that's seated on a correct aluminum intake. In front of that Holley, traditional points distributor sequences fire between a fresh coil, vivid Autolite voltage regulator and proven Autolite Radio Resistance cables. At the sides of that distributor, estored exhaust manifolds funnel spent gases into menacing, rue-dual pipes. And in front of those manifolds, beefy radiator sends water around a correct fan via pliable Autolite hoses and tight screw clamps. As you can probably tell, he raucous engine has been trimmed in requisite Ford Blue and crowned with chrome Ford valve covers. That bejeweled appearance contrasts well against Satin Black fenders and a full array of marks and decals. And everything, rom the car's reproduction Autolite Sta-Ful to its factory-spec smog equipment, ooks clean, ttractive and authentic.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Naturally, he bottom of this awesome Ford has been restored to the same high standards as its striking exterior and pristine engine compartment. Behind the motor, n original Toploader 4-speed hangs a familiar C8AR-7006-D casting number and correct "RUG AG" assembly stamp in front of a proven Ford 9-inch and factory limited-slip. A fully rebuilt suspension holds that awesome drivetrain off the ground. At the ends of that suspension, orrect power steering combines with correct power front disc and rear drum brakes to provide competent track capability. Overhead, ndercoated fenders and solid, xide-coated floorpans look rust-free and ready to roll. In the middle of those floors, throaty, rue-dual exhaust system pipes roasted dinosaurs through an H-shaped crossover, hin resonators and a transversely mounted muffler. And at the sides of that exhaust, rgent Boss wheels twist meaty F60-15 Firestone Wide Oval 60s around galloping horse center caps.

INTERIOR

Inside the car, correct Black interior features freshly re-covered seats and simple stainless accents that blend seamlessly with their deep orange shell. Everything from the tight headliner to the pony-branded floor mats appears restoration-fresh. The dash is loaded with rebuilt gauges, eatures a familiar Philco stereo, nd looks good in monochromatic trim that's as fade-free as the day it was installed. At the floor, traditional Hurst stick rides inside a pliable boot. In front of the driver, standard steering wheel spins fat spokes around a red Mustang emblem. And behind the passengers, fully restored trunk features a small spare tire.
