This is a very solid rust free Arizona car. The car was appraised in November 2008 for $25,500 after a frame up restoration (see appraisal included with photos). It was an outstanding Custom 300 at that time but since then it has been updated and modified to be the exceptional car described below.Although it looks like a stock 1957 Ford Custom 300, his lowered classic has a 460 Lincoln engine with a mild cam and some go goodies, C6 transmission with Gennie shifter and a rebuilt posi-traction rear end. Also out of sight are custom-built hidden traction bars and electric exhaust cut-outs. This is not a trailer queen, t is driven daily, eather permitting, nd is completely roadworthy, ependable and ready to drive cross town or cross country. It isn't a show car . . . but it is about as close as you will get with a daily driver. If you drove it you would want it. . . it sells itself.The car has been lowered to obtain a perfect stance and has new Eagle Alloy Series III wheels and new tires (P215/65R15 front and P225/75R15 rear) all around including the spare. The front end has been rebuilt and power rack and pinion steering added to make the car handle like a new car. The power brakes have been updated to a modern power booster with a dual master cylinder so it will stop on a dime. Disc brakes up front and drum brakes in the rear.The steering column is a new smooth Ididit column with shifting moved to a Gennie floor shifter connected to a C6 transmission. The dash still looks completely original with a Custom Autosound stereo (with a USB player) installed to maintain that stock look. A cluster of large face mechanical gauges have been added under the dash. New upholstery. The trunk has also been carpeted to match the interior and a false floor installed to hold the larger spare tire. The heater core, eal and valve have also been replaced.Besides a mild cam in the fairly fresh 460 Lincoln engine, Weiand Stealth intake manifold, Holley 670 dual feed carburetor with electric choke and a Pertonix electronic distributor (installed after photos were taken) have been added. New steel fuel lines were run from front to back connecting a new gas tank to the carburetor thru a new Carter electric fuel pump and a Speedway large canister fuel filter. Flow is regulated by a Holley fuel pressure regulator. The dual exhaust passes thru glasspacks and out the back . . . unless you decide to open the electric dash controlled cut-outs. The power is put to the tires thru a newly rebuilt posi-traction rear end with 3.00:1 gears. This is a very exceptional '57 Ford that looks good, its right and handles like a dream.
