For sale is my excellent running, urvivor 1970 medium blue Boss 302, of 460 with 70K original miles. It has nice standard black interior with factory tachometer, -speed, ower steering, ower disc brakes, M radio and rear spoiler. The VIN and buck tags are still in place. This was a Missouri car most of its life. This Boss has its number matching original engine and I can see the VIN stamp on the back of the block. I have not looked on the left transmission ear for a VIN#, ut I think it's the original transmission too with factory Ford Hurst shifter still in place. Everything works on this Boss 302 except the radio which plays static. I got this Boss maybe five years ago after the original owner parked it in a garage for 25 years (see the car's 1982 tags in the trunk). I rebuilt the brakes (pads, new calipers, ear wheel cylinders and silicon fluid), dded fresh oil, ull tune, new gas tank/sender and installed new black carpet. It has 15x8 magnum wheels. Tires are old and tired. I sold this car to a friend of mine and he had it 2 years and then last year I bought it back. I love the paint patina on the Boss and it was a big hit when I took it to the June 2012 National Shelby meet at Watkins Glen NY. This Boss runs/drives/steers excellently—the motor revs smooth as glass. I am stunned how smooth this car revs by hand under the hood or in the driver's seat with foot. I just installed new aluminumized dual exhaust. The steering box has no wear (someone filled it with grease years ago) and the car tracks and steers perfectly. The original shifter works flawlessly and this car is easy to drive and brakes perfectly. Both doors and glass roll and close smoothly. It has an aftermarket cam the original owner installed and it runs well with it! This Boss is very quick and sounds mean. It has good torque and revs smoothly. It has a grumpy-cam idle at 950 RPM, ut it feels and sounds nice. The engine blows no smoke and has good oil pressure. Power steering works great with the Boss power steering oil cooler still mounted behind the driver radiator shroud. The clutch and pedal assembly works perfectly with smooth, traight action. It has good headers. This Boss is a pleasure to drive. This Boss has its original 31-spline Nodular rear, ut has 3.91 gears instead of the 3.50 it had originally. The rear end is quiet and both front/rear sway bars are there. The body has some rust in the lower quarters and in the driver floor board where I POR 15'd the rust and fiber-glassed that spot to drive it. I wanted a fun driver, ot a trailer queen. The rest of the floors are solid. The cowl is good. The passenger fender has two rust holes, ne is low and the other is just above the side marker where undercoating held water. Someone rolled the rear fender inside lips in for big tires I suppose which made some dents on the outside passenger side, ut the front fender inside lips are the original rolled Boss 302. All the sheet metal is original including the engine compartment aprons. The passenger torque box has just a small hole, ut the driver's torque box has a three inch hole. Floor supports, hock towers, ear rails and trunk floors are good. The original Ford glass is excellent. The mostly original interior is really sweet. The original headliner is perfect. The dash has a small crack or two. It has a good original radiator, ut the carb (has Ford 4300 carb) and distributor (has a HiPo 289 dist) are not original. Original choke knob and cable still in place. The big Boss power steering and alternator pulleys are still there. I would install a new timing chain (has slack) and new rear brake lines (look rusty) to be safe. While stored in Missouri, mouse chewed some under hood wires at the firewall, ut I was able to repair them and everything works fine. I love this survivor Boss 302 with 45 years of paint-patina, ut I have too many projects so I am selling this interesting, un-driving, urvivor Boss 302. I have two original Ford build sheets to this Boss. Selling it "as is" and I expect full payment in 10-days. Please call me for more info or for more pictures...Rick (301) 779-0114
