UP FOR AUCTION: 1958 FORD RANCHERO PROJECT.THIS CAR DOES NOT RUN. IT IS A PROJECT FOR SOMEONE WITH MECHANICAL AND BODY RUST REPAIR SKILLS.I recently installed a 1989 5.0 fuel injected engine with it's AOD transmission. This required installing a Mustang front sump oil pan and motor mounts and making minor modifications to the front crossmember to fit it correctly. Included with the car is the computer and wiring harness for the fuel injection as well as what wiring diagrams I have for it. If you dont like the idea of fuel injection, t can easily be replaced with a manifold and carburetor. The engine and tranny came from a wrecked 89 Crown Vic with 92,000 miles on the odometer. It was a clean car that someone obviously took pride in and was well maintained as far as I can tell. The engine and tranny were tested before pulling from the donor and seemed in perfect working order. The body work has been done on all the parts you see in primer: doors, ood and tailgate. There is considerable rust that needs to be repaired. Included with the car are replacement lower rear quarter panels and rocker panels. There is also rust in the bed area. Nothing that can't be repaired. There is also floorboard repair work that was done incorrectly by the previous owner and needs to be corrected. The interior includes only the dash and seat which has been reupholstered in red and white. No door panels or carpet or headliner. Most of the dash components are in a box. Actually there are several boxes with misc. parts for the car. As far as I have been able to discern the only parts missing are most of the right side chrome trim and the hood scoop trim. It has the venerable 9 inch rear axle. It appears that P/O had the gas tank out and cleaned and painted and reinstalled. It has 14" stock rims with wide whitewall tires that have decent tread but are obviously old. They all hold air though. As far as paperwork, have a California VIN verification that has been signed by a police officer and a bill of sale. I've been meaning to get to DMV and go ahead and get a title but haven't had the time or patience to stand in line for an hour at our local DMV. I will try to have that done if possible next week. I would love to restore this car myself and use it for my shop truck, ut the truth isI have too many projects and I realize I will not be able to get to it for a couple of years at least and I really don;t have room to store it. Delivery within 100 miles of Ventura, A is possible for fuel and food costs. Please do not bid on this vehicle if you are not serious about following through and purchasingit. It costs time and money to list, o please be considerate when contemplating bidding. Thank you for viewing and good luck bidding if you so choose to.
