Car description |

You are bidding on a beautifully-restored 1954 Ford Crestline Sunliner Convertible with a V-8 and 3-speed manual transmission! She is in excellent condition and is mostly original. The show-quality black paint is very rich and deep and it shows how straight the body is! She is a head turner from the gorgeous 2-tone white and red interior, o the black matching canvas convertible top, o the shiny chrome. This car will be a joy for summer cruises to the ice cream stand, ride through the park, car show or anywhere you take it! One of the nicest Ford convertibles out there!
She runs as good as she looks too! The original 239ci V-8 purrs like a kitten! The motor was rebuilt years ago by a prior owner and she shifts through all 3 gears without a hiccup due to the fact that the original manual transmission was rebuilt 2 years ago. Most everything works including the power convertible top!
This stunning example has been stored and babied in a heated garage since its restorations years ago. The body has only 70,800 miles and most mechanical parts have been restored/rebuilt or replaced.
This is a rare classic car with a low reserve to protect some of its value. If the reserve is not met we will work with the high bidder to complete the sale.
Please enjoy the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzz4YlRsdnI which shows off the car like you are standing next to it.
The Body is very solid, ice, hiny, nd straight with a show-quality paint job with no swirl marks! The body has had some very minor repair made during restoration that are only evident from the underside. There are no dents, ings, r damage to the body except for a minor scratch top rear by the convertible boot molding. The paint is so reflective that the picture of the passenger-side quarter panel is reflecting the wavy side of a tent that was behind the photographer - the waves are in the tent - not the car.
The condition of the chrome and brite work is very nice to excellent as is the glass, eatherstripping interior panels and seats. Again it's a fairly recent restoration and most everything was attended to.
The convertible top is in very nice condition since the vinyl top was replaced with a canvas top 2 years ago. The plastic window is beautiful without fold marks. Top does have a new white boot cover.
All of the windows, oors, runks, nd hood all operate, ock and unlock.
The Two-tone Interior is in beautiful shape (no rips or tears anywhere). Most everything works on the dash but the two gauges that don't work were replaced by aftermarket gauges under the dash. The 6-volt system was converted to 12-volt and the original radio was converted to transistor AM/FM. The steering wheel is in good condition with minor aging.
The Drivetrain is original and all systems have been rebuilt (motor, rans, earend, rakes, uel and electrical charging systems). The 239ci runs great, dles and drives, oesn't overheat, r really leak. The transmission operates and shifts like new. No problems in the rearend. Steers and brakes as new. This car does make the car show circuit so you know you're getting a very nice car!
The Undercarriage is in nice condition too. Floor pans and frame are original and in good condition. Just some very minor areas of rust were taken care of during the restoration, othing bad but just wanted to mention it.
Other info: The car is in pretty much original condition with the following items replaced... 12-volt battery with alternator and 12-volt conversion, ires (which are white wall 7.10/15 bias-ply and in good condition, ot dry rotted), new fuel tank with pump and lines, new brake shoes and hardware, new carb (original one goes with the car), ufflers and the rearend was rebuilt 2 years ago with new 3:25 gears installed.
Car comes with one set of factory keys and clear Ohio title
