Car description

For Sale is a 1938 Ford 4 door convertible. This car found in a barn in Massachusetts where it was parked in 1965. I bought it from the gentleman who found it. I have too many projects and not enough space so I've decided to sell this one. When I got the car I oiled the cylinders, leaned the gas tank, lush the lines and with a new battery it fired up. I replaced the exhaust system. I was told's a low mileage car, he odometer reads 15,560, robably not correct but the rubber on the brake and clutch pedals has hardly any wear and there are still bits of paint on the rear end and in spots on chassis. After getting it running I drove it around the back streets and it goes down the road nicely, he suspension and front end feel tight and the brakes work well. The tires are old and dry rotted, hey do hold air but need replacing. The body is in great shape, ery little rot, xcept for the front floors. I was told the roof of the barn had been leaking into the car for years, hich is probably why the floors rusted out and the canvas is gone from the top. I do have the replacement front right and left floor pans, s well as the transmission cover and a new rubber floor mat. The rear floors are very solid, nder the rear seat is rusted through(see picture). The only rot I've found on the body is small spot on the lower left rear door, ne small spot under rear bumper bracket, nd small area on right running board. The chassis is solid. The doors all open and close nicely, he windows roll up and down very easily, he glass is fogging. The roof frame is free and goes folds as it should. One piece of wood from the roof is in the trunk. Both filler pieces that go between front and rear windows are there. The door panels and kick panels are in nice shape. The engine is a 59 AB, o it was replace at some point. All the gauges work as well as the speedometer. It is equipped with a gas heater, didn't try it. The paint, or the most part seems to be origional, ts been touched up here and there. The paint that's on the car still shines, buffed the hood, assanger side and trunk. When the car was found it was missing the side panels on the hood, did find 2 of them and painted them black. The car is very complete with the exception of the glove box door and the trim on the side panels under the hood. Car is being sold with bill of sale only.
