This 1978 Fiat Spider would be a great buy for someone looking to restore a classic convertible sports car. Iacquired this little gem as a barn find. The previous owner had purchased this car as a restore project and started to do some work on it, ut gave up because he was unable to acquire the title. I, owever, as able to find the original owner of the car and now have a clear title to the car. The original owner took very good of this vehicle. It had always been garage kept by him. When he stopped driving, e sold the car to the man that I bought it from, ho had started to restore it and had also kept the car in a garage or barn for many years. It was still in the barn and covered when I acquired it. The body is inextremelygoodshape for as old as it is. All of the glass is good, nd theconvertibletop is still in excellent condition. The underneath had been undercoated at some point so the frame is also in great shape. The clutch seems to work great and it can be shifted into all gears. From what I can tell, ost of thechrome from the car is in the trunk. The bad........from sitting for so many years, he motor is seized up. I attempted to turn the motor by hand, ut was unable to. This may just be a case of rust in the cylinders, ut I do not have the time to dig into that problem any further. From what I have read/ seen, ne of these cars in this condition is a rare find in the northern states. I do not have the time, r a garage to keep this little gem in, nd hate seeing a classic like this sitting outside, o I am listing it here for sale. If you are interested in a great restore project, r are a Fiatfanatic.....then please do not hesitate to start the bidding. Thank you for looking, nd have a great day.
