Car description |
---|
This 1977 X1/9 has been completely gone through. It starts, runs and drives excellent and definitely gets lots of looks and comments!
The car features a rebuilt, bored-over 1.3 liter carbureted 4 cylinder engine with all new internal components, high performance cam and new head. It has been retrofitted with a rebuilt 5-speed manual transmission out of a later model including new clutch, axles and wheel bearings. The X1/9 came from the factory with 4-wheel disc brakes which have been completely replaced with all new components. The interior has been totally refreshed with a rebuilt dashboard (likely the only early-model X1/9 in existence with a perfect dash), new carpet, custom seat covers and new stereo/speakers. It also has many new parts such as Panasport wheels, Yokahama S-Drive tires, complete new fuel system, complete new cooling system, complete smog system, all new brake system, complete suspension rebuild (including struts, tie rods, bushings, bearings, etc) and anything else you can think of. In addition, both floor pans have been replaced with ones made of thicker steel. The paint is older, but does buff out pretty well as seen in the photos.
The X1/9 was designed by Bertone and manufactured by Fiat. With a transverse engine and gearbox in a mid-mounted, rear-wheel drive configuration, the car was noted for its balanced handling, retractable headlights, lightweight-removable hardtop (this car has been retrofitted with a headliner version of the hardtop) and front/rear-storage compartments.
This 1977 X1/9 is ready for the summer!
