Car description

1973 Fiat Spider 124 Sport 1600 cc engine, manual.

This car is in great mechanical shape. The engine and transmission are strong. It drives and shifts smoothly. The paint looks good. This car was originally blue on blue. The tires are a little older but are in good shape. This car is fun to drive and own.

A lot of upgrades and new items have been installed.

New ignition system items include:

· Battery

· Ignition coil

· Alternator

· New key ignition

· Spark plugs and wires

New brake system:

· Rotors

· Calipers

· Master cylinder

· Brake booster

· Pads

· Pad clips

· Caliper lines

· Rubber lines

Rebuilt front wheel assemblies:

· New A-arm bushings, uppers and lowers

· New ball joints, uppers and lowers

· A-arms, coils, spindle, caliper brackets all cleaned, sealed, and painted

· New front and back shocks

Misc. replacements: fresh oil and filter, fresh coolant, all new brake fluid, new rear differential oil, air filter, gas filter, engine bay gas line. New exhauste manifold and down pipe gaskets.

I’ve saved most of the old parts and will send them with the car (see pics); as well as, a repair manual and differential fluid. There are also some extra gauges from another car. One extra stock air filter and a chrome after market air cleaner assembly are included.

It’s titled as a ’72, but the door tag has a date of 10-72 and I was told by a local Fiat car club that it’s a ’73. I was told the late 10-72 makes it a ’73, or a factory hybrid (part one year, part another year parts from factory). So I believe this is a ‘73 and can get it retitled as a ’73 prior to shipping it to you if you want. I believe I’m the 3rd owner and have the title in hand.

Known issues: Interior needs work (needs new dash and carpet, center console, etc.) The soft top has a few tears, but I think it can be sewn or patched. I’ve noticed a few rust bubbles under the paint, mostly near the back-wheel wells (see pictures). The radiator fan doesn’t work, although the car is not over heating without it. Needs new tie rod ends andsway bar brackets. There’s at least one spot on the floor of the car that is rusted through. I repaired some rusted parts on the shock towers and inner fenders. There are a few oil leaks, but nothing too bad. The exhaust manifold was cracked and repaired. I’m not sure about the actual mileage. The odometer works but might have turned passed 99k.

I love this car and it’s been a lot of fun. I want this to be the best experience for both buyer and seller. I’m trying to represent this car as accurately as possible.
