1983 Ferrari Mondial 308QV Sunroof Coupe
I purchased the car almost 12 years ago at 30,500 miles. Since then I have put on 29,000 miles making it a 59,000 mile car. The car has the original black basecoat/clearcoat paint in excellent condition. The Red Leather seats, arpets, eadliner, unroof, lass is all original and in excellent condition as the photos show. The engine in the 1983 Mondial 308QV was designed to run on Regular Grade Fuel, nd if the 5-Speed Manual transmission is driven conservatively can return20 mpg.
I have exclusively maintained this car with a few exceptions as noted below. Cars have been my hobby, aving accumulated over fifty years of experience working with all kinds of collectable vehicles. The result is a car that not only performs better than; but also is trouble-free when compared to many advertised Mondial QVs even with lower mileage. The only reason I am offering it for sale is that I have purchased a 1997 Ferrari F355, nd I consider owing two Ferraris somewhat excessive.
Mostly all maintenance, epairs and modifications were done by me; some of which are described below. I can provide a more complete listing if requested by an interested Buyer. I also have receipts for all parts and services.
There were only two jobs done by well known Ferrari mechanics. (1) Clutch and Throw-Out Bearing were replaced and the Shift linkage adjusted at 30,000 miles right after I purchased the car. (2) Timing Belt and Cam Bearings and Crankshaft Seal replaced later on at about 40,000 miles.
All chassis and engine mechanicals as well as all electrical systems function perfectly. A/C and Heater, ower Windows, nstruments, adio, uto-Antenna, arning lights, nterior & Exterior Lighting, t cetera all function as new. Allow me to mention a few desirable modifications that this car has:
- The Fuse/Relay box located in the front compartment(one of my photos) is responsible for certain chronic electrical problems that are caused by open solder connections in the printed circuit board. I have re-soldered the circuit board connections as recommended by owners to finally cure these problems.
- A desirable performance modification is to empty the matrix from the Catalytic Converter. The matrix breaks-up inside and can be removed by thoroughly flushing with pressurized water. The Air Injection Pump and its associated plumbing were removed but all parts have been saved. Re-tuning the Bosch K-Jetronic CIS Fuel Injection resulted in smoothest idle and an increase in horsepower.
- Installing two Booster Relays to maintain full voltage at the Starter Motor during start and full voltage to the Ignition during running avoids excessive voltage drops at the contacts in the Key Switch.
- Optional accessories include an UNGO Box Anti-Theft Alarm and a concealed Radar Detector.
This car isrust free,no oil or coolant leakage, nd has not sustained anycollision damage.
