I am listing this car for a client. This car was purchased on Bring A Trailer in August of this year. The client wanted a few things addressed by my shop on the vehicle and then decided to go a different route with his collection.....this car is now being offered.
Bring A Trailer did a pretty good write up:
This 1990 Ferrari 348 TS is finished in red over tan leather and powered by a 3.4-liter V8 paired with a five-speed dogleg manual transmission. The seller acquired the car in October 2018 and has since driven it 500 miles while servicing it himself including a new clutch, timing belts and tensioners, water pump, gaskets, and much more as described below. Modifications include custom BC Forged 18″ wheels, H&R suspension springs, an Xhost exhaust system with test pipes, Scuderia fender shields, and red-painted exterior trim. This 348 is offered with service records from new, a Carfax report, factory literature and tools and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The factory roof panel and other black trim have been painted red. Per the seller, the removable top recently received new guide pins for mounting to the body. Exterior flaws are noted as chips on forward-facing surfaces and nicks in the front and rear bumper covers. Paintwork was reportedly performed on a fender under previous ownership, while the windshield washer nozzles and wheel center caps were replaced during the seller’s ownership.
The car sits lower than stock on H&R springs over BC Forged multi-piece 18″ wheels, which were reportedly custom-made for the car and fitted with new tires when installed.
The dashboard vents, door lock release, one window switch, and the driver’s seat belt were replaced by the seller in November 2018. The electric driver’s seat belt “mouse†is inoperable, however the belt itself is functional. A/C and heater work well.
An Xhost exhaust system with test pipes is equipped, and the seller points out that the car is not fitted with catalytic converters.
In November 2018 the seller performed an engine-out service himself. Highlights included new timing belts, idlers, tensioners, spark plugs, gaskets, and fluids as well as replacement of the clutch, water pump, lower pulley bearing, idle control motors, fuel system components, and hoses. Additionally the seller states that the clutch seals were replaced, the flywheel was refurbished, the coolant and vacuum hoses were changed out, and the oil pump/lower chain tensioner guides were replaced. New fuel and air filters plus a new thermostat round out the major items.
The July 2019 Carfax report lists registration in California from 1992-2006 and in Indiana, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Florida since. A mileage inconsistency in March 2000 is thought by the seller to be a clerical error, and appears corrected in later entries. Additional videos of the car are provided below.
Extensive records from new are organized in a binder.
When the car was delivered, my customer addressed several issues including:
Seat surfaces re-dyed professionally along with steering wheel outer rimRide height was raised .75"Front fenders were painted due to paint chips above front wheel well openingsUnderside of roof panel was finished in new materialNew tires were installed(better fit for wheels/car)New Ferrari 348 style floor mats in black/red added
This car is a great example of a 348that has been well maintained, serviced and cared for. Books, records, manuals, tools....it's all there. The history on this one iscomplete.
The 348s are veryunderrated and unappreciated cars but they are excellent vehicles(I'm an owner of one). Easy to own, easy to drive, incredible sound, 90s design goodness. They have been increasing in value and good ones withcomplete records are getting tougher and tougher to find.
